Youbeauty Discovery Box April 2014

For those of you who don't know Youbeauty Discovery is a beauty box subscription you receive on a monthly basis at a mere cost of just £6.95 including postage. Each month, you get to choose two products from a specific theme. Alongside this you also receive two additional items; one normally a food/drink item, and the other being some form of a beauty product.

This month the theme was Organic & Natural. I chose Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Eye Rescue Rollerball, and the Melvita Moisture-replenishing Night Nectar. Additionally I recieved a sample of The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Face Cream and a 9bar Fruit (a mixed seed energy bar).

This is the product I was most excited about, the Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Eye Rescue Rollerball. The product claims to effectively reduce puffiness, tired eyes and dark circles. This instantly sold me on choosing this item, particularly the dark eyes part. Not only that, the formulation includes 20 essential mineral oils. It is also free from parabens, SLS, artificial colours, fragrances and harsh preservatives... so perfect for sensitive skin. I can't comment on its effectiveness as I have only used the product a couple of days, but what I can say the product is lovely to apply and has an instant soothing effect on the under-eye area. I can't wait to see if it shows the results it claims.

A closing quote from Dr O himself; "this highly targeted bioactive formulation is clearly mother natures personal attack on tired eyes." What more could a girl want?

Next up is the Melvita Moisture-replenishing Night Nectar. I chose this as I still haven't quite found my perfect night cream so thought another sample couldn't hurt. This little tube of night cream is described as a "velvety formula" which "bathes the skin in beneficial moisture all night long." The cream itself has a light floral smell to it. It is relatively light, actually a lot lighter than you would normally expect from a night cream, but sinks in quickly. However, once applied it does feel thicker enough to be a night cream.

As I mentioned above one of my additional products was a sample of The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Face Cream. I haven't used this sample yet but the product sounds like it could be a winner. It is formulated to both protect and rejuvenate all skin types. In short it is "an instantly absorbed face cream packed with our (The Organic Pharmacy) wrinkle fighting herbs and vitamins including Vitamins C and E." Now I'm not really looking for products aimed at wrinkles just yet, but a product claiming to awaken the skin and filled with vitamins is always worth a go.

So, another brilliant beauty box from Youbeauty Discovery. As to the product costs, the Dr Organic Organic Dead Sea Mineral Eye Rescue Rollerball is full size and worth £8.99, instantly more than the £6.95 cost. The Melvita Moisture-replenishing Night Nectar is a 15ml sample, and works out at being £10.50 worth of product. If you're looking for a beauty box to try this is definitely one I suggest trying. I love the fact you get a choice of products each month.

  4. I don't normally like beauty boxes but this one looks pretty cool. I love skincare products so I'm definitely more into boxes that have more skincare products rather than make-up.
