The Body Shop Instablur* is a product I have been so excited about since I heard about it being released. The product is a primer, and designed to perfect your skin to leave you with a flawless base. It is said to have five purposes; 1) shine control for 12 hours, 2) reduce the appearance of pores, 3) hide blemishes, 4) complexion unifying, and 5) make-up extending. This all sounds amazing to me, I mean who doesn't like a bit of perfecting of their skin?
I have been trialling the product for a couple of weeks now and have to say I am impressed with the results. On a twelve hour day, I have been finding any oil to be kept at bay, and this is without using my everyday powder to set everything. My pores are reduced immediately on application, and my skin appears smoother. This to me makes the application of my makeup far easier as I am applying to a smooth base. I don't really have any blemishes currently, so can't comment on that, but the wear of my makeup is extended through use of this as a base.
As to the texture, this is quite hard to describe. It reminds me of the Garnier Perfect Blur primer, a silicone light base. I'm actually not too fond of this texture, but if you can get your head around the odd feel the product does actually sink in easily.
So, what do I think? I am currently loving this product. Instablur does what it says on the tin. My skin appears more flawless, in turn improving the look of my base. If you like the idea of a flawless finish, then this is definitely one you might want to give a go.
It is available from today, both in-store and online.
