Ahh, time for the second of my mid-week beauty favourite series. This weeks favourite is the Maybelline Color Elixirs that I can't seem to put down. Keep reading to find out more, and hear about my giveaway I've got currently running.
When these came out I had been waiting for them for so long, but didn't expect to love them as much as I do. They are simply a lip gloss, but without the sticky feel, and with a stronger colour payoff than your average lip gloss. You know how your hair gets stuck to your lips if you wear lip gloss? Well, with these Maybelline Color Elixirs this really isn't the case.
The applicator is your typical doe applicator, ensuring easy application. The formula is relatively thick, but easy to apply and spread across your whole lips.
As to the wear time, I find this to be average at about 3-4 hours before needing touching up; however these lip glosses do leave a stain behind so you can get away without touching up if you wish.
Another thing I love about these lip glosses is how moisturising they feel. So, what do I think? I'm sure you can gather I really like these, and can't wait to pick up more from the selection released. The two shades I have are Blush Essence and Petal Blush, with the darker shade being my favourite (Blush Essence).
I am running a giveaway currently to win both of these shades of lipstick. If this interests you click here to find out more.
Have you checked out these lip glosses from Maybelline yet? What do you think of them?
Every week I seem to have a product that I pick up constantly, so I thought I would start a new feature on my blog: Mid-week Beauty Favourite. This week's favourite is the L'Oreal False Lash TelescopicMascara.
A mascara raved about by many, but is it really worth the hype it is given? Yes, yes, and yes is my answer. I love this mascara.
It has a wand with comb-like bristles which are just perfect for applying mascara to your lashes. It means no more clumping, and the false lash formula ensures you can add volume to your lashes. The result is defined, voluminous lashes that really are noticeable.
But does the effect last? Another yes from this mascara - I can go from 8am in the morning, and come 6pm in the evening they still look as good as new. They're isn't even signs of smudging. I do tend to add an extra coat if I'm going out for the evening, but this is only to increase the volume intensity, not because it is needed.
This is definitely a mascara I recommend, and one I will be repurchasing after I've worked my way through my mass collection of mascaras.
Have you tried this mascara yet? What is your personal favourite mascara?
Leading on from my last post of a what's on my face wedding edition, here are the pictures from the day.
The wedding started off in a lovely church that was very decorative, with the reception held at an enormous country house 45 minutes away. I couldn't believe how big it was, but I think my favourite part of the house besides the lush beds had to be the pizza oven hidden at the back of the garden. The pizza's were amazing and I could easily have eaten 10. There was also a hammock hidden amongst the garden which we discovered the morning after, hence the no pictures.
This was my first wedding I have attended and I really enjoyed it. Have you been to many weddings? What part do you enjoy the most?
So, the reason I've been slow with my posts for a week was because I attended a wedding, the first wedding I've ever been to I'd like to add haha. I thought I'd share with you the makeup I went for on the actual day.
I started my applying my trusty No 7 Brilliantly Bare Beauty Enhancer primer to ensure everything lasted all day. I then opted for the Max Factor Skin Luminizer foundation as my base, a foundation with no SPF. I then went in with my Maybelline Erase Eye Concealer; I used this on my under-eyes, nose area and chin. I also used a bit of The Body Shop Lightening Touch on top under my eyes to brighten up the area. To set my base all in place I went in with the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot (yes, I somehow forgot to photograph this product, oops).
To create my perfect eyebrows I have been a bit addicted to the Benefit Brow Zings lately so this was my obvious choice, followed by the Collection Color Lash Mascara in clear to set everything in place.
For my eyes I went for the Urban Decay Primer potion to prime my lids, and ensure the eyeshadow lasted all day and night. I went for my two new Collection Eyeshadow Pencils in the shades Vintage Blush and Hot Chocolate. I used vintage blush as my main lid colour, and hot chocolate in the crease and along the lash line. I then blended them together.
To contour I used the NARS Laguna Bronzer under my cheek bones, in the three-shape and along the sides of my nose. I also used the NARS Orgasm Blusher to add some colour to my cheeks. Lastly, I popped a bit of NARS Devotee Highlighter on the tops of my cheeks, middle of my nose, and bottom of my forehead.
To finish off the look I used two lip products; the L'OrealInfallible lips in shade Timeless Rose, and the Maybelline Color Elixir in Blush Essence. I used the L'Oreal to create a lasting colour, and topped it with the Maybelline to create a more glossy finish.
And, that was my final makeup look for the wedding. Have you tried any of these products? What would your makeup be when attending a wedding?
