I have accumulated rather a lot of empties over the last couple of months, but hey that means I am actually using products up. As there's so many I am going to split this into two posts, with the second being up later in the week.
So first up on part one of September/October empties is The Body Shop All-in-one BB Cream. I loved this; it provides light coverage, and leaves a glowy finish on my face. One that suggests radiance, just what I like. Considering it it a light base I do find it covers up any redness quite easily. I have also found it to be the perfect base for when my skin's having a drier day, as it simply provides coverage and moisturises at the same time. Would I repurchase? Of course, in fact I already have another one in the lighter shade on the go.
Next up is the St Ives Apricot Invigorating Face Scrub. The only face scrub I have ever wanted to repurchase. I won't say too much as I have written a full review a while back, but in short this is an amazing product that simply does its job, and brightens the skin. You can feel it working, and I really do notice a difference. Would I repurchase? Yes, definitely.
The Elemis skin clear mattifying moisturiser was a deluxe sample that I loved at first, but have slowly grow to dislike. In fact there is still about half the product in the tube. The product itself doesn't smell amazing, but I originally found it mattified my skin, and kept the shine at bay all day. Slowly it seemed to work less :S, and was irritating my skin so I decided to stop using the product. It could be good for you if your skin is less sensitive than mine, but would I repurchase? Nope, I'm afraid not.
The Body Shop Rainforest Volume Conditioner was one I picked up to try out on a long weekend. I had heard great things about the product, and love the fact it doesn't contain sulphates but unfortunately I found this product wasn't for me. It did condition my hair and leave it soft, but not knot-free as I kind of expect from a conditioner. I found my hair quite hard to brush through, unlike I normally experience with conditioners. Would I repurchase? I don't think so.
The Body Shop Cocoa body wash is one I can't decide on. Besides Soap & Glory The Body Shop are my favourite place to buy shower gels from. I usually love cocoa butter products way too much, but this one I swear had a weird un-cocoa butter smell. This made me not really wanting to use it. I already have the larger size waiting for me currently, but would I repurchase after that? I really don't know, I guess I'll have to decide once I've finished that one too.
Another The Body Shop product is next, this time their Rainforest Volume Shampoo. Another one I loved the idea with it being sulphate free and everything, but like the conditioner I didn't get on with this product either. It didn't seem to properly clean my hair, as in it looked like it needed
washing after just one day. So, would I repurchase? Another no.
Last up is a sample I received with my Sephora order a couple of months back. It is the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Foundation. This product I 100% loved and have found it so hard to resist purchasing the full size. I found it really did leave my skin looking fresh and flawless. It was slightly matte, so a bit different to what I normally go for but how long it lasted on me made up for it entirely. I literally found this stayed on my day from 9am right up to about 9pm in the evening when I took it off. I think it could have lasted even longer had I wanted it to. Would I purchase? Hell yes, I can't wait to have my hands on this foundation. No SPF either.
So that is the end of part one of my empties. A mixed review this time, but I have definitely found a few more favourites that I can see myself using for a while. What have you used up lately? Have you tried any of these products?
So I mentioned a couple of posts back that my lack of blogging was due to being very busy in my life, with a lot of changes happening so I thought I would provide a little update.
I had been looking for a full time job for a few months in Southampton, and suddenly I actually managed to get one which meant the start of everything for me. I previously had a job at The Body Shop - a job I loved, but there wasn't any jobs going in Southampton and that's where I wanted to move back to, where I went to university. So I now have a full time job with guarenteed hours (and commision) at EE. My dream is still PR, but I am really enjoying my new job that's got me to Southampton.
This new job meant me moving cities and moving in with my boyfriend Luke. But, we needed a flat and now I could actually do this, so the hunt began whilst I temporarily moved into his studio flat. This also means that I have half my stuff in my home town and half my stuff in Southampton.
We found a flat, actually a really nice one with seperate kitchen and lounge area as well as obviously a bedroom, bathroom on hallway in the city centre. The countdown began, and guess what; yesterday we actually moved into our flat. Sooo exciting.
My first proper flat not including my student ones, and I only left university a year ago so I'm pretty damn happy to be back here and impressed to be moving out again. The flat is also unfurnished, another job but so nice to design and create our own little place. So expect some interior posts haha.
In case you're wondering our flat is the one one the left in the picture, the upstairs window.
We won't have internet immediately so there might be a delay in posts, but I've planned a couple showing you the products I've been using up the last couple of months. My laptop is still broken so I am currently stealing the boyfriends laptop.
As I mentioned I hope to be back posting by the end of the month properly, but I feel better now I've explained why I haven't much. I love having my own blog, and people actually reading it. I hope you've enjoyed my update, and enjoy your weekend :).
Do you like The Body Shop products? If you do you're about to here a whole lot of love for their products, and my favourite ones. Recently I left my job at the Body Shop, and of course I had to stock up.
The first product I picked up was a boring old bath lilly, but doesn't every girl need them? I have always found the Body Shop's one to be the softest, they exfoliate but don't irritate my skin like some of the coarser ones.
Next is a more exciting product; All-in-one Instablur Eye. I couldn't leave without picking up one of these up to try. It is designed as a multi-purpose for the eye. It primes and helps conceal, brighten and increase the wear time of eyeshadows. On testing in the shop I immediately noticed a difference in the intensity of any eyeshadow colours.
I had to pick up the White Musk Sport EDT for my boyfriend too. I love the smell of this, it is an extremely fresh smell - the one you expect people to pop on after a gym session. It is gorgeous; I am so glad he loves it too.
The next product I picked up was the Camomile Scumptious Cleansing Butter. I am very near the end of my current one, so a back up was needed. I love how this doesn't irratate my sensitive skin, but also leaves it lightly moisturised before I've even applied my moisturiser. It has a slight scent to it, lightly flower-like, but nothing too strong.
I also picked up the Body Shop face & body brush, and the eye blender brush. I needed a new powder brush desperately, and I love how large this one is. It is always the one I used to use to blend everything out at the end when doing makeovers. As to the eye blender brush, I already have a Zoeva one I love, but I have kind of over-used it on cream shadow pencils, so needed another purely for powder shadows. I know the quality of these brushes is amazing, and with my staff discount I didn't really have a reason not to pick them up.
I also picked up a couple of products from the fairly new Argan range. The two products I went for were the bubble bath and body lotion. My favourite thing about this range is how moisturised they leave my skin after using. I also find the range to feel very luxurious because of this benefit.
Next up had to be a few products from my favourite Vitamin E range. I use the illuminating day cream and night cream all the time. I always find I end up going back to these particular two. I love the way the day cream really brightens up my face, whilst the night cream is thick but easily sinks into my skin. I also thought I'd pick up the Vitamin E Sink-in Moisture Mask. I have heard so much about this but was still yet to try it myself. I have tried it a few times now, so will let you all know more about it shortly, but in short I love it.
I also picked up another shower gel to add to my collection, this time being the Early Harvest Raspberry shower gel. This is one of my favourite smells the Body Shop does, but I still haven't tried any of their products so as I love their shower gels I decided this was the time too.
Lastly I picked up a couple of makeup items to add to my collection. The first was the Baked-to-last Bronzer in the lightest shade. I already have the darker one and love the formula. I thought this would be a great one to add an all-over glow. I also had, and I mean had to pick up was a backup of the Body Shop Colour Crush Shine Lipstick in the shade 17. I wear this lipstick pretty much every day, and just love the colour. It is kind of a coral pink that instantly wakes up my face. I love it so much that my current one has nearly been used up. I've never used up a full lipstick before so this is big news, and meant I had to have a spare one.
Anyways that's the end of my massive haul, but hopefully I'm all stocked up for a while now. I am definitely going to miss working there, and my staff discount haha. I hope you enjoyed this post, I'll be back shortly with an empties post.
