Top 5 Summer Shoes Wishlist!

top 5 summer shoes

Do you love shoes and are you like me with a soft spot for buying shoes? I never seem to be able to have enough and always seem to have a pair of shoes I want. That being said I thought I would share with you a Summer shoes wishlist of the five shoes I have been lusting after the most lately.

1. White ankle strap block heel shoes from New Look
I have a pair of gold sandals with a small heel that I wear all the time and love for the pure reason they make me a little bit taller whilst still feeling extremely comfortable for every day wear. I thought these would be perfect for the Summer, also look comfortable and would be a colour that goes with everything, and with the clothes that don't quite work with my gold pair.

2. Pink stud t-bar shoes from River Island
Aren't these pair of shoes from River Island just divine? I love the gold stud detailing on them. Being nude they would probably also go with pretty much anything, whilst still adding that extra bit of detail.

3. Emilio Luca X Sardinia ballerina shoes from Brantano
Every girl needs a simple comfy pair of flat shoes that they can just pop on without even thinking about and these look like shoes that could be that pair. The crotchet flower design across the shoes is a gorgeous added touch as well. I could happily wear these every day.

4. Palm Tree sandals from Primark
I've been spotting the double t-bar style of shoes everywhere lately but most of them are relatively simple and plain - these are different. As soon as I spotted the orange palm trees I wanted them. I love wearing orangey-coraley coloured clothes and accessories in the Summer so think these just might be perfect.

5. Wide Fit Turquoise Ankle Strap Cork heels from New Look
A lot of the shoes I tend to go for in the Summer are more on the neutral side but I can't say no to a splash of colour. I love that these are bright blue and the wooden-styled heel mixed together - a perfect pair of Summer shoes!

What shoes have you been lusting after lately? Let me know - PS I have actually already purchased two pairs of these shoes, can you guess which pairs I failed to resist?

Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipstick review.

 clinique pop lipstick
clinique pop lip colour

You may have noticed this month I have been feeling rather spendy by the amount of new beauty bits I've been picking up. One of the items I picked up was the Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipsticks - a product I lusted after since I first spotted and couldn't wait to try.

I've been trying and testing the two shades I picked up and thought it was about time I shared my thoughts with you. The two shades I picked up were Melon Pop and Cherry Pop.

The Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer Lipsticks are said to be extremely moisturising on the lips keeping them moisturised for 8 hours. They are also said to "glide on effortlessly to a modern-velvet finish" with the "colour staying true."

The first thing I noticed about these lipsticks was how moisturising and smooth they felt upon application. They didn't cling to any dry spots and just generally felt really comfortable. I'm not sure on the 8 hour claim but the Clinique Pop Lip Colour lipsticks definitely kept them moisturised for a good four hours with ease before they needed retouching. Food and drink did effect the wear but better than other lipsticks I've tried.

As to the modern-velvet finish the lipsticks leave a very shiny finish that really catches the light. The colours really do stay true to their colour.

clinique cherry pop

Cherry Pop is a bright red shade but with fuscia mixed in creating a gorgeous Summer red on the lips.

clinique melon pop lip

Melon Pop is a shade more on the neutral spectrum, again with a tint of pink mixed in. Swatches of both shades are below with Melon Pop to the left and Cherry Pop on the right.

Overall these Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipsticks from Clinique really are worth the hype and amazing products. I love the formula of them and how they feel on the lips. The colour payoff is amazing - I really wish I could purchase the entire collection from the range.

Have you tried these new lipsticks from Clinique? What brand makes your favourite lipstick?

Top 10 favourite blogging apps.

top 10 bloggings apps

Everyone has their favourite apps on their phone, and being a blogger there are several apps in relation to blogging that make my life so much easier. I thought I would share with you all what my top 10 favourite blogging applications are.

First up has to be Bloglovin - the app/website I'm sure if you are blogger or blog reader you will have heard of. Yes it has had its problems lately but it is still hands down my favourite app to read and follow blogs through. I love the simplicity and the fact you can search for blogs through categories. This is definitely an app I don't know about you but I couldn't live without.

Instagram is still a very new thing to me but one I should have given in to getting sooner. I love scrolling through my feed and seeing all the different pictures. As a blogger I love sharing hints about my posts and about beauty in general in my daily life, but also seeing pictures from other people's posts. If I've had a really busy day and haven't had a chance to catch up on bloglovin yet I will frequently look at a post just by spotting an eyecatching image on Instagram.

Buffer is another favourite of mine - my chosen app/website to schedule my posts. Through the app I can see any tweets I've scheduled and how many times they've been clicked on. This easily allows me to see which Tweets have worked best.

I don't tend to use the next one very often but when I need to it is amazing - blogger. I love being able to finish a post on the go through my phone or tablet if I haven't finished it on my laptop. The only thing it doesn't have is many formatting options, but I tend to do this all on my laptop beforehand so this isn't really a problem.

Google Analytics is another favourite and one I am using more and more recently; I actually prefer the app to the desktop version. I can see all my figures clearly through here from how many views I've had to how many people have viewed to where they have been referred from. It's so useful, if you haven't started using it already you should definitely give it a go.

I have a dedicated domain email address which I recieve the emails through Zoho Mail. Being able to have the Zoho Mail app on my phone means I can't miss an email - perfect as far as I am concerned. The app even has notifications so I can see how important the email is before I have even opened it.

Another favourite app of mine is the GoDaddy one. This is less of an every day one but one that allows me to easily see how long is left until I need to renew my domain, and edit anything to do with my domain without the need to visit the website; such as when I set up my domain email address and I had to change some settings.

The StumbleUpon app is my favourite app to share list posts but also to see other popular things people have shared through StumbleUpon. I will always find something that makes me laugh through this app.

Sell on Etsy is an app I downloaded recently and have found really useful since starting up the Violet Blonde Designs. I love how I can check everything in relation to my shop in a second, and also check how many views or favourites I've had.

The last app which isn't actually pictured above (blame the iPhone folder only having space for nine apps) but in no way least is the Ifft app - an app I honestly don't know how I ever lived without. Essentially you can create recipes through Ifft that means things are automatically done for you, such as when you post a post on bloglovin it will automatically post to Twitter, or when you change your photo on Twitter it will automatically change on Facebook. It is one useful app I thoroughly recommend.

What are your favourite blogging apps? Is there anything I have missed and you think I need to add to my collection?

5 minute face.

I'm a girl who likes her sleep and sometimes that means I pretty much have 5 minutes to put some makeup on. I think I've just about nailed it down to a tea so thought I would share my routine with you all.

One thing I will rarely leave the house without is some kind of base on my face, even if nothing else. Foundation and a primer takes way too long for a 5 minute face so a light easy base it is. My favourite at the moment is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue - a base where one layer is so light but still covers up anything I want it too whilst being completely natural.

I'll then go in with some concealer, mainly on my dark circles under my eyes. My favourite lately has been the Soap & Glory Kick-Ass twist up conealer (yes, the one I won't stop talking about). It's a nice creamy formula that's easy to work with.

Following this it's time to add some shape to my brows using the Collection Eyebrow Definer. A bargain product with a fine tip that works amazingly at shaping my eyebrows, and lasts all day, and I mean all day!

After my basic base has been done I'll either set my makeup with some powder or apply some blusher to add a bit of colour. I've been choosing the blusher option lately, with the Makeup Revolution the One Blush Stick being my go-to choice.

And to finish it off I like to define my lashes as I always feel strange without wearing mascara, so on the mascara goes. At the moment I'm using the L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara and loving the results.

And viola, my makeup is done all in five minutes! What products do you use on those mornings you really don't have time and chose your bed over getting up? Do you have any tips for me?

Mid-month favourites June 2015.

How is it already half way June I do not know, but what I do know is that means it's time for this month's mid-month favourites! I've been a bit of a naughty shopper over the last six weeks so there is a lot of new products featuring, but come July it's back to a spending ban ahh.

So onto this month's mid-month favourites... First up is actually something I received as part of my Valentines present; Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner. It's essentially a product that allows you to moisturise whilst in the bath/shower, and it is actually amazing! It was something I could never get my head around until I tried it, but now I am in love and have used the whole tub up. I love how quick it is to use and how soft it leaves my skin!

Makeup Revolution the One Blush Stick in shade matte dream is a new product that has fast become a favourite of mine. I love how easy it is to apply, but also how easy it is to blend. I have wanted one of the NARS multiple sticks for forever now and think I could have found a dupe I can justify the price for. I just now would quite like to try out a few of the other shades too, oops.
First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy was the first purchase before I went spending mad after I saw a YouTube tutorial and was amazed with the results. The formula comes out a kind of salmon pink colour and is amazing at helping with my dark circles, with the silver applicator being great for any puffiness in the mornings. It also works really well as a primer; I can't believe I waited so long to try it, and it definitely has to be my top favourite product this month!

Another purchase from a spendy Kristy was the Clinique Pop Colour lipstick in the shade melon pop. I love everything about these lipsticks from the packaging to the formula to the colour, with the shade melon pop being my favourite of the two I purchased due to it being an easy everyday colour. It feels so moisturising on the lips which I love.

MUA pro-base prime and conceal powder has been the powder I've been using to set all my makeup in place. I love the way it takes away any shine without leaving my face completely mattified. The four shades put together are great at keeping any redness at bay as well, I love this powder and recommend it to you all.
The last product I have been loving is the 130 MAC short duo fibre brush. I used to use this brush for concealer but lately I have been loving it for blending out any cream blushers. I love the fact it's a bit smaller than your average stippling brush as this allows me to focus on certain areas, and not blend the blusher back off my face if that makes sense.

Well that's the end of this month's mid-month favourites, what have you been loving lately? Is there anything I need to pick up before I'm back on my spending ban?

Boots high-end haul June 2015.

boots haul june 2015

A high-end foundation favourite running out and my never-ending beauty wishlist meant a high-end Boots haul was inevitable sooner rather than later.

stila lip cheek palette

The Stila Paint Me Pretty lip & cheek palette is a gorgeous palette containing six cream blushers that I knew I had to have from the moment I first saw it just under a year a go. It includes the shades kitten, peony, gerbera, rose and petunia.

I've wanted to try one of Stila's convertible colour blushers for a while now, and with my Bourjois cream blushers running out this seemed like the perfect opportunity. A single Stila convertible blush costs £16 and this set cost me just £3.50 more so was a no brainer in my eyes.

So far I'm really impressed with the formula and longetivity; the only thing I'm not so sure on is the packaging of the palette itself... each of the shades are simply in a plastic thing, but other than that I can see this fast becoming a favourite of mine.

clinique pop lip

I also had to purchase a couple of lipsticks from the new Clinique Pop lip colour + primer range. I love the idea of a lipstick having a primer which is what brought my attention to these. I suffer from dry lips so something that helps my lips whilst still being a lipstick sounds amazing in my eyes.

I went for a neutral pink shade (melon pop) and a brighter pink red shade (cherry pop), two shades that add something different to my collection. I'm finding these lipsticks extremely comfortable to wear and love the shades. A full review will be coming soon with swatches.

bare minerals complexion rescue

The product everyone has been raving about since its release, the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. I'm definitely a girl who prefers her lighter bases over the heavier ones so this was a product that immediately appealed to me.

The product itself is similar to a moisturiser consistency-wise with a more gel/serum like feel. It applies with ease, covers the essentials and leaves the most natural-glowy finish. I can definitely see why people have been raving about this one - I am so glad I picked it up.

chanel vitalumiere aqua

The second to last product I picked up was the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. I ran out of this about a month a go and was absolutely gutted as I love the product so much. I knew I had to repurchase this one.

The foundation is extremely liquidy but so easy to apply. It's one that you can layer and cover any flaws with ease, whilst still feeling like nothing on the skin. It again leaves the most natural finish. Oh, and I also weirdly love the smell of this foundation. My only question why doesn't the UK sell shade B12?

The final product I picked up was one that isn't high-end; the Maybelline Color Tattoo in shade pink gold. I see people mention these all the time but haven't actually owned one since I was a teenager so I thought it was about time I picked one up. After swatching the pink gold shade in store I thought it was the perfect shade so of course this meant it was mine.

And that's the end of my haul, what have you been purchasing lately? Have you tried any of the products I picked up on my Boots haul?

A look inside my dressing table.

ikea hemnes dressing table
ikea hemnes dressing table

I've been meaning to write this post since last November when I first purchased this dressing table but somehow it has taken me over six months to actually do so, oops.

When I moved in with my boyfriend last October the one thing I knew I really really wanted was a dressing table - you see I've never actually had one before. I used to just use the floor and a long mirror to get ready and have everything organised around.

I really wanted two key things from my dressing table; a large typical dressing table style mirror and some built-in storage for my ever-growing collection. In the end I went for the Hemnes dressing table from Ikea. I love everything about it, from the mirror to the glass table, to my matching stool.

Today I thought I would share with you how I use my dressing table and organise all my makeup.

perfume collection

To start with let's talk about what's on top of my Hemnes dressing table. To the left I keep all of my favourite hair products - the perfect place for easy access when I'm getting ready. I also like to display my perfumes on the top of the mini drawer; this way I can swap between them depending on what I'm feeling.

The 'k' jewellery box to the right of the drawer is something I made as a child and is filled with all of my earrings, whilst the Italy boot is from my holiday to Italy last year. I also randomly have my Tarte palette displayed as well.

ikea dressing table

To the right of the dressing table is where I keep all of my makeup brushes. All of my face brushes are in my Paris mug towards the back; whilst all of my eye brushes are kept in my ELF brush holder.

I also have a second swivel mirror purely because one side does the whole magnified mirror thing which is incredibly useful when I'm doing my eyebrows and more creative eyeshadow. I've also got a sticky pad to the right in case I come up with any magical ideas, and my SMASHBOX primer water.

makeup collection
makeup collection

My Hemnes dressing table from Ikea also features a pull out drawer. This is split into three sections which I use for my base, eyes, and face products.

The first section is the one with all the base products. At the bottom of this little section I like to keep all of my foundations, with my concealers towards the bottom right corner and my primers towards the top of the drawer.

makeup collection

The middle section of the drawer is filled with all of my eye products if you hadn't guessed. I tend to keep my larger palettes towards the bottom left, with any smaller ones at the top of the drawer.

All of my eye primers are also kept at the top towards the left hand-side alongside any mini mascaras I've still got. Opposite to that is all of my eyeliners, whilst below next to my palettes are all my eyeshadow sticks.

I have also popped in my only mascara at the moment at the very bottom of the drawer.

makeup collection

As to the last section this is literally filled with everything and anything face wise. I have a couple of face blusher palettes at the bottom right of the drawer but other than that it isn't really in any particular order, except my regularly used products are towards the front.

This is the drawer where all of my blushers, powders, bronzers and highlighters are kept.

lipstick collection

And on to probably my favourite section of my dressing table... my lipstick drawer. As to be expected my lipstick drawer is full of all my lipsticks and the odd lipstick I own in a fairly disorganised mess. I do want to purchase one of those lipstick acrylic storages so I can see everything clearer but until then this keeps them tidy. I will be doing a full post on my entire lipstick collection so keep an eye out.

I haven't photographed the last drawer as this is full of bits and bobs like my passport, empty jewellery boxes and old phone cases.

How do you organise your makeup? Is there any particular section of my makeup collection you would like to see a more detailed look at? Let me know below.

Makeup Revolution Haul.

makeup revolution haul review

It has been just over a year since Makeup Revolution launched and boy have they been been raved about. I have had a large amount of products on my wishlist for quite a while now, and after trying one of their palettes and being amazed I couldn't resist any longer... and a haul happened.

makeup revolution hot spice palette

The first product I went for was one of their gorgeous-looking blush and contour palettes, a palette containing 6 blushers for the mere price of just £6. I went for the shade Hot Spice, containing a great range of neutral and brighter shades, as well as two marble blushers.

So far I've only tried a couple of the blushers but have been really impressed. The pigmentation is amazing, and just as good as any of my favourite more expensive blushers. A full review will be coming soon once I've tried it out a bit more.

makeup revolution fluid blusher

I have been eyeing up the Daniel Sandler Watercolour blushers ever since I saw them and then spotted these and instantly thought 'possible dupe' and knew I needed these fluid blushers from Makeup Revolution?

I picked up the shades Rush Me and Pink Dew.

As to the formula, it is extremely runny but seems to apply relatively easy with a stippling brush. I am finding you need quite a bit of product to get the colour to show but I do really like the dewy finish.

makeup revolution blusher

...Okay maybe I went a bit blusher mad but I wanted to try all the different styles of blusher they sell, so also picked up one of their vivid blush lacquers in heat and their blush stick in matte dream.

I loved the idea of a pump blusher, again because it's liquid and something different. I haven't given it a go yet but I'll be sure to let you know what I think once I've tried it.

As to the blush stick I've wanted the NARS multiples for a while, so thought this could be an alternative and have wanted one since I first spotted them. I like easy makeup, and the idea of painting my face sounds like fun. The pigmentation of the blush stick from Makeup Revolution is again extremely impressive, but it still blends easily. So far I am definitely loving this.

makeup revolution lip lava

Another product that has been on my Makeup Revolution wish list since I first spotted them, the lip lavas. I love my lipstick and a product that lasts a long period of time even with eating and drinking sounds perfect.

I picked up the shades Forgiven and Tremor and I have to admit I am again extremely impressed. I tried these as soon as I received my delivery. They applied with ease and lasted for a good five or so hours with no smudging. The end result isn't sticky at all either, another win from me.

makeup revolution pigment

To end my haul I had to pick up some of their pure pigments - I keep watching YouTube tutorials involving pigments and I am in love with the finished look. I picked up the shades cautious, indirect and angelic, one neutral shade, one white-toned neutral and one pink-toned shade. I can see these being amazing for creating evening looks.

And that's the end of my massive haul; can you believe it only cost me just over £20 in total? So far I am loving the products I received, and can't wait to give them more of a go.

Have you picked up any Makeup Revolution products? What's your favourite product and what do I need to pick up next?
