H&M beauty haul and mini reviews.

Ever since I laid eyes on the new H&M collection I knew I had to at least pick up a few bits. Gold and white packaging - how was I supposed to be able to resist?

H&M beauty makeup 2015

Having never tried the products but hearing soo many good reviews I think I did pretty well on not going overboard. I picked up two of the High Impact Eye Colours, one Pure Radiance Blush Powder and one Cream Lip Colour.

H&M high impact eyeshadow

I'm not one who normally goes for single eyeshadows as I much prefer palettes,
but after hearing the single eyeshadows' quality being a higher standard I decided to do something different and opted for the single ones.

I picked up the shades Orange Ochre and Papaya Ice. Orange Ochre is a bright dark orange colour, slightly burnt orange. I thought it would be the perfect colour for Autumn, and it is something I don't own anything like. Papaya Ice is an orangey-peach toned light pink, which I thought would create the perfect smokey look when paired with Orange Ochre.

As to the quality, I really can't believe how good they are; they are up there with my favourite Urban Decay eyeshadows. The longevity of the eyeshadows has also really impressed me - I can easily wear them all day and they will still look pretty much the same as when first applied come the end of the day.

H&M lip powder puff 2015

When I picked up the blusher and lipstick I went for shades I thought would complement each other and work really well together.

I picked up the Pure Radiance Blush Powder in the shade Cameo Pink - a gorgeous neutral browny pink shade. It is a really natural shade with just a hint of colour. I again really like the formula of this blusher, but unfortunately I haven't found the longevity to be quite as good as the eyeshadows. I am tempted to pick up a darker shade to see if this differs.

As to the Cream Lip Colour I picked up the shade Powder Puff - a neutral pink shade. Again it is a very neutral shade, but the pay-off is incredible. The lipstick feels so creamy and moisturising on my lips. It also lasted quite well for a lipstick; I would say about 2-3 hours before it needed touching up.

All in all I am so glad I got my hands on a few bits from the collection. Three out of four products have proved amazing! I cannot wait to pick up some more, in particular the eyeliners as I have heard the formula is amazing, so creamy!

Have you tried anything from H&M's new beauty range? What have you got your eyes on?

Sephora Cream Lip Stain review.

Sephora cream lip stain 03
Sephora cream lip stain 03

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will have noticed I went on a little Sephora trip when I recently went to Barcelona; one of the items I purchased was the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in shade 03.
It is a well loved item by many bloggers, but does the Sephora Cream Lip Stain really live up to the test?

Sephora say the product is meant to 'provide beautiful, long-lasting colour,' 'feel soft and comfortable' and 'the initial cream texture become a silky, lightweight stain.'

I whole-heartily agree the Sephora Cream Lip Stain does provide beautiful long-lasting colour. The shade I have is a pink tinted red shade that really stands out. Every time I have worn it so farm the wear-time has also really impressed me. I can eat and drink galore, without worrying about the product disappearing off my lips. It really is long-lasting.

As to feeling soft and comfortable, I definitely cannot feel the product on my lips so I would also say the cream lip stain is comfortable too. As to being silky I have never really thought about it, but it definitely applies really easily to my lips.

All in all, I really think the Sephora Cream Lip Stain really does live up to Sephora's claims, I just now wish I had a Sephora around the corner so I could go and pick up every shade. It's an amazing product I definitely suggest giving a try if you haven't already.

Have you tried the Sephora Cream Lip Stain? Were you as impressed as I have been?

Mid-month Favourites November 2015.

beauty favourites november 2015

Apparently it is already the middle of the month which means it's time for one of my favourite posts - it's mid-month favourites time!

beauty favourites november 2015 lush yankee

First up had to be my oil burner and Yankee Candle Tarts, since my Yankee haul (pictures on Instagram). I have always had a love for candles and anything that spreads amazing scent around my flat. These tarts do just that - I even think the smell spreads as much as a regular jar candle. I definitely recommend purchasing these as an alternative to the candles or even just to try the scents.

The next favourite I recently reviewed and also had to be featured in this months favourites - The Comforter from Lush shower Cream. Yes, the same scent as the bubble bar. I love the fact that by using this I can ensure my favourite scent from Lush sticks around on my skin for even longer. It is definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.

beauty favourites november 2015 stila no 7 sephora

The No 7 Brilliantly Bare Beauty Enhancer has always been a primer I go back to and once again I am back to using the product on a daily basis; in fact I have been for the last three months after failing to get hold of the Laura Mercier primer. I love how this smoothes over my skin, but is also the only primer from the drugstore to actually make a difference to how long my makeup stays on for.

Another favourite lately is the Stila Paint Me Pretty Lip & Cheek Palette. I have always loved my cream cheek blushers and I love the variety in this palette. The shade I have been constantly using is peony, a browny pink shade. The formula is amazing, so easy to blend, and they also last really well too.

Last up is the Formula X nail polishes by Sephora. I have read about how good these are but now I have finally got my hands on them I understand why. The formula lasts really well - when I trialled without a base or top coat I found the Formula X nail polishes to still stay chip-free for 3-4 days! Amazing in my eyes!

What have you been loving lately? Do you love any of the products I have featured?

The Comforter from Lush review.

lush the comforter

The Comforter has always been my favourite bubble bar from Lush. Recently they also brought out a matching shower cream; how amazing is that?
The Comforter smells absolutely delightful, really relaxing but with a strong scent. It has a blackcurrant fragrance, with bergamot also shining through. To me, it smells of pure lush.
As to the product itself The Comforter bubble bar is particularly large compared to some of the other bubble bars. I probably use about a sixth of the actual product per bath. This is more than enough to fill the entire bath and allow the scent to fill the room. It actually fills my entire flat, and does for a few hours after my bath.

As to the newly released shower gel version of The Comforter, this is just as good. The formula is a cream shower gel but appears quite thin when you actually use it. This threw me, but it still foams really well. The Comforter typical smell is definitely noticable as well.

All in all, I love the fact Lush have released a matching shower cream formula. It is genuinely as good as the original product, and allows The Comforter smell to linger on my skin for longer. If you haven't tried this product already, it is definitely worth having  a look at.

What is your favourite bubble bar or shower gel from Lush? Have you tried the shower cream version of The Comforter?

5 of my favourite ways to relax.

5 ways to relax

Now that it is getting colder there is nothing better than snuggling under the covers with a cup of tea watching a movie. It really is the perfect way to relax, and today I am going to share with you all 5 of my favourite ways to relax.

1) Light a candle or get the oil burner going - I love candles anyway but I definitely think warm smelling autumnal candles are the best. I love the smell spreading throughout our flat, find they actually warm the room and are genuinely relaxing. (I currently have a Yankee Candle Sparkling Cinnamon tartlet in my oil burner whilst writing this post.)

2) Watching a movie whilst snuggling under the covers with the other half - After coming home from work on these dark drizzly days there's nothing better than popping a movie on, the covers out, and just chilling.

3) Run a boiling hot bath full of Lush goodies - I don't know about you but I love having a long hot bath before bed, especially one full of Lush goodies. It is the perfect way to get ready for bed but also so relaxing for both the mind and body.

4) Read something - Whether it is a blog, a magazine or a book, focusing your attention on something else is an easy way to relax the body. Even music works really well; whether I am having a boogie getting ready or have my headphones in just chilling music is amazing and definitely relaxing.

5) Have a glass of wine
I love my wine anyway, but there's nothing better than a glass of wine after a long stressful day. As they say, a glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away, or was that an apple?

The Body Shop mini haul and mini reviews.

the body shop haul nude foundation

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know I am an avid fan of The Body Shop products, so when I heard they were releasing a new foundation I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Luckily I was nearing the end of my every day foundation so gave in, and purchased a couple of other bits as well.

The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation is the foundation I picked up. I have only used it a handful of times so far but I am really liking it. It feels really light on my skin, has a glow to it but also stops my skin from getting shiny anywhere. I love the finish, and the foundation itself has a slight tint of a rose smell to it which I also really like. It is definitely a foundation worth checking out if you haven't already.

The next purchase was a repurchase; the Lightening Touch. This is a light-diffusing liquid concealer that I really tried to persuade myself I could live without it but after a month of not having it I decided that I really couldn't live without it. I still use a regular concealer but this one works very well at brightening up the corners of my eye where my dark circles are darkest. It is definitely one of my favourite makeup products.

The last product was a complete random one but one I couldn't resist when it cost me a mere £3 and had the word sparkling in the name. It is the Sparkling Black Mascara. I have never seen this before but loved the idea of sparkly lashes so knew it had to be in my collection. I have only tried this once so far and couldn't really see the glitter, but I will keep giving it a go to see if I can spot that glitter.

What have you been purchasing lately? Have you tried any of these products from The Body Shop?

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation review.

rimmel wake me up foundation review

You know that feeling when you find a foundation that provides the perfect coverage, feels barely there and gives your skin the perfect subtle glow? Well that's what I have found with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation.

Rimmel is not a brand I would usually go for for foundation but since I purchased the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation I have not stopped using it to the point I have actually now run out.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is said to 'instantly reawaken skin, with a healthy, radiant glow and minimize premature skin aging.' I definitely believe this foundation awakens the skin - as I said it leaves the most subtle glow, it really does look like it has woken up the skin. As to the minimizing age part I can't really comment as I don't have any signs of ageing yet.

Not only does the foundation do exactly as it claims, it is also so easy to apply. I tend to use my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge and find this leaves a smooth flawless finish.

As to the lasting time of the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation this is where it can struggle. I find it lasts about 6-8 hours when using primer, but after this it does start to fade but how can I complain when I purchased it for £5 on a special offer?

All in all, this is a foundation I thoroughly recommend. It may not last a life time but the finish is something that kept me addicted. It is an amazing every day foundation, well done Rimmel!

Sephora Haul!

sephora haul barcelona

A trip to Barcelona and not entering Sephora, now that would be insane. Of course I went in and brought a few bits! Amazingly I was good so it is only a small haul, but I picked up a couple of bits I have wanted to try for a while now.

First up is the Sephora Pomegranate eye mask designed to have an anti-fatigue and energizing effect. I love the idea of this effect as I really do suffer from dark circles under my eyes, and always have. I remember trying one of their older masks that was designed to do a similar thing and it was amazing so I cannot wait to see if this one is just as good.

I also finally picked up some of Sephora's own Formula X nail polishes. I couldn't decide on the colour, so as I tend to never use up an entire bottle of nail polish I decided to go for the mini set which meant I got four polishes for only slightly more than one full size polish. So far I am loving the formula of these; they are very long lasting and chip resistant.

Another "finally" purchase was a Sephora Lip Cream Stain. I went for the shade 03, a bright red shade on the pink side and I am in love. The formula is amazing and really is as good as everyone says. A full review of this one will definitely be coming soon.

Lastly (see, I was good), I brought a mini Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, purely because it was cheaper than in the UK and I loved it so soo much the first time I tried it. I am still finishing up my current mascara so it is actually still in the box but I am so excited to have it in my routine again.

Additionally I also received two Human + Kind day and night cream sachets complimentary. I don't know much about this brand and the product but I do know it is supposed to lock in moisture and be a relatively light formula. It will nice to try them without committing, and being sachets they will be perfect for travelling too.

And that's the end of my mini Sephora haul, what have you been purchasing lately? What do I need on my wishlist?

I'm back! - Blogging break, Barcelona and life update.

You may have noticed things have been rather slow around here over the last couple of months. I did write a few more posts than have been published but wasn't really happy with them and have generally been extremely busy so decided to leave it, but with any luck things will be getting back to normal from today. Kristy is back!

Now for a little update on my life;
With the mans birthday just gone the end of October we decided to book a random short little break in celebration to Barcelona. I wasn't expecting to see so many beautiful sites, there really is so much to see over there and we were only there for two and a half days, and two nights. The hotel was a bit far out but luckily the transport was easy to use and a two minute walk away.

Barcelona plane

We spent the first day just generally exploring, and headed into the centre of Barcelona for the evening. This included eating at the poshest restaurant I have ever been to, Da Greco - we were definitely not posh enough to be eating there but hey, even the plates had the restaurant name printed on them. I had the most amazing lasagne style dish for dinner.

On the second day we had more of an idea of what we wanted to see, and started the day by taking the tram and metro to Les Corts to see the Barcelona Football Stadium, Camp Nou. We started the tour by getting lost and failing to follow the arrows, but soon learnt and got to see the stadium inside out, it's so soo big.

Camp Nou Barcelona

Following this we headed down to explore Las Ramblas, a famous street surrounded by trees either side. It was definitely unique. I loved seeing all the human statues and the artists down the middle.

In the evening we went to the centre of Barcelona for some dinner and Sangria, and then randomly decided to explore the Gothic Quarter. I am so glad we decided to have a little look, the Cathedral was an amazing site as well as all the different architecture of the old buildings in general. We also went into a little art gallery which was pretty cool.

Sadly that was our last night, but we made the most of the half day we had before our flight. We headed down to the Mirrador de Colon and caught the lift to the top to catch some amazing views. Apparently you can see about 60% of the city from the top!

After seeing all this we headed to Espanya with the intention of eating but discovered the beautiful Palau Nacional which we had no idea even existed somehow. I think it has to be one of the prettiest sites I have ever seen, I soo want to see the light show there at some point.

I loved our little trip; it may have been short but it was amazing. It is definitely a place I could happily go back to many times.

Besides our little trip I also started my new job last month. I had wanted to get out of retail for a while knowing I had far too much experience, and feeling like I couldn't get anywhere however much I could do it. I worked with an amazing set of people but wanted change, something more Monday-Friday with set times. So far I am really enjoying it, and hopefully with these more set times, at some point me and my boyfriend will finally have the same days off.
And that's pretty much the two key things that happened in October. It was a pretty awesome month. Anyway back to the blog, I am back, and I am planning on sticking to a more regular schedule, with posts going live every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to start with at about half 11 (besides this one).
I hope you all had a good weekend and enjoyed my chatty post!
