Christmas 2015.

I love Christmas and everything about it so today I thought I would share with you all some pictures about my Christmas Day this year.

It was a little bit different this year as me and my boyfriend hosted Christmas at ours for the first time, with my family coming to ours. I prepared and cooked our Christmas roast dinner of Turkey and Lamb, which was lovely. My mum commented on being impressed with my cooking so I can't have done too bad.

After everyone went home we spent the rest of the evening drinking wine (of course) and watching Christmas movies.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and got everything on your wish lists! How did you spend your day?

15 ways to get into the festive spirit.

ways festive spirit
I don't know about you but I know I am so so excited for Christmas, and definitely in the festive spirit this year. It is the first year in about five years where I actually have a few days off over Christmas.
Unfortunately this isn't the case for everyone, leaving some of you feeling perhaps less festive as you are perhaps still working constantly.
On  that not I thought I would share some of my favourite ways to get into the festive spirit, 15 to be precise;
1) Make a Christmas CD for your car or a Christmas playlist for your walk to work

2) Put on a Christmas movie whilst you wrap up your presents

3) Head to a Christmas market, and have some mulled wine

4) Go for a drive in search of all your local Christmas light covered houses

5) Go ice skating

6) Head to your local coffee shop and try a limited edition coffee/latte/hot chocolate

7) Buy yourself a Christmas tree shaped cheesecake (Sainsburys totally sell this)
8) Cook your dinner listening to Christmas music at top volume

9) Pick up a book with a Christmas storyline

10) Buy wine in bulk

11) Pick up those chocolate or biscuit tins only available at Christmas

12) Festive up your car with some tinsel because

13) Go for a walk under all the Christmas lights in your local town

14) Watch the Christmas episode from your favourite TV series again

15) Put some tinsel in your pony tail like you used to when you were younger
What are your favourite things to do to get into the Christmas spirit? Let me know in the comments below, p.s. happy Christmas Eve everyone :D.

My all-time favourite ever palette - the Urban Decay Naked palette.

The Urban Decay Naked Palette is the original Naked palette from Urban Decay, and hands down my most-used palette since owning. It also happens to be my favourite ever palette. Saying that I thought I would do a similar post to what I did with the Lush Rose Jam shower gel, and share 10 reasons why I love it. I will also be sharing swatches with you all.

So, onto why the Urban Decay Naked palette is my all-time favourite palette;
- the formula is so, so smooth
- the eyeshadow lasts brilliantly on my lids, even a smokey look
- the eyeshadows have very little, if any fallout
- the warm tone colour range is perfect for me
- I can easily create a basic soft eye look, and transform this into an evening look
- I wear every single shade
- it was my first high-end eyeshadow palette
- not one shade is a dud, pretty impressive in my eyes
- it has a gold, party eyeshadow shade with amazing payoff
- Urban Decay make amazing eyeshadow palettes

So, what do I think overall? I absolutely love this palette, and think it has to be one of my best ever purchases. The eyeshadows really are amazing in all aspects, and really do provide a great variety. I love that their is a mix of matte and shimmer shades as well. I would love to own a few more palettes from Urban Decay but I think the Urban Decay original Naked Palette will always be my favourite.

Do you own this palette from Urban Decay? What other Urban Decay palettes do you love?

My top 5 festive nail polishes.

top nail polishes
top nail polishes

Festive nail polishes are my favourite; reds, golds, silvers and sparkle - I don't know about you but I love it. Today I am going to share with you my top 5 nail polishes for the festive season.

The first shade of polish I had to include is a new one to me, the Essence gel polish in the shade true love, a gorgeous burgandy red shade. The formula needs shouting about too as it is amazing, but they'll be more about that in another post shortly.

Fearne's nail polish is an old favourite of mine, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have a shade name. It was from a Christmas set from Boots a couple of years ago. The shade itself is a gorgeous shiny dark red with tiny specks of the same shade glitter mixed in.

Next up is from Missguided, I believe I got it in a magazine at some stage. Annoyingly there is no shade name again but it is an awesome black polish with iridescent glitter specs throughout - a definite party polish!

Revlon's glitter polish in the shade 340 stunning was another I couldn't not include. I don't like using this one on its own so much, but really like using it as a top coat over a basic colour. It is the perfect addition to transform your usual nail polish.

The final polish to make the cut is another glitter polish I love using as a top coat. It is the Orly lacquer in the shade hair band, a gorgeous gold glitter that works just as well as the Revlon one.

What is your favourite nail polish? What one do I need to pick up next?

Lush Rose Jam shower gel and why I love it so much.

lush rose jam shower gel

The Lush Rose Jam shower gel is a yearly limited edition product that only comes around at Christmas, and once it's gone it's gone. It is my all-time favourite shower gel, which is something I really cannot see ever changing.

Today I thought I would share with you why I love it so much;
- the scent is divine
- it feels way more luxurious than my other shower gels
- it is more of a cream shower gel
- a tiny pea-size amount creates so many bubbles on my bath lilly
- the scent spreads around the room
- it smells of rose
- the scent lingers on my skin
- the scent is strong, but it isn't too over-powering
- it doesn't interfere with my perfume
- did I mention it smells of rose?

What's your favourite shower gel? Have you tried the Lush Rose Jam shower gel?

5 of my favourite bloggers for you.

I love seeing who all your favourite bloggers and YouTubers are so I thought I would share with you five of my own favourite bloggers and YouTubers.

The Only Ones - The only ones is a beauty blog written by Natalie, and was one of the first blogs I ever read. I love how she writes and the honest reviews she always writes. I also watch her YouTube quite regularly and her videos are just as good. Natalie is similar skin-toned to me so I always look to her foundation colours if I am trying to work out what shade I am in a foundation.

Beauty and the Chic - Beauty and the Chic is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog written by Claudia. I love the variety of content she always produces, and always enjoy reading her posts. I also found the memory keeping system of Project Life through her blog, and have been using it myself for the past six months. Claudia has also just had the cutest baby boy George as well who has featured in some of her posts.

Mascara and Maltesers - Mascara and Maltesers is a blog I have loved for a long time now. It is a beauty blog written by Annabel containing many reviews that are so well written. If I want to read a review of a product her blog is one of the first I will go to to see if she has written a review.

Abigail Alice - Abigail Alice is a beauty, fashion, travel and lifestyle blogger who moved to Los Angeles for a year to study abroad. I love America and given the chance I would have probably jumped to study in America when I was at university. I love reading about what she's up to over there.

The Michalaks - The Michalaks are a family who vlog their daily lives and put up a video each week showcasing their week. I originally found their videos through Hannah Maggs' blog, and ever since they first started making vlogs I haven't stopped watching them. Hannah and Stef have a little boy Gracie and have been vlogging since before little Gracie was even born. The video quality they produce is amazing, and their channel is one channel I watch religiously and will never miss a vlog.

Mid-month favourites December 2015.

favourites december 2015
favourites december 2015

It is the middle of the month, six days until Christmas, it's mid-month beauty favourites time! I have been using much of the same products lately so this post is a little bit shorter than normal, with only four products mentioned, but I thought rather than repeat myself I would share with you four new beauty favourites.

With it being party season I have suddenly brought out my MAC Fluidline again, in the shade Blitz and Glitz. If you don't know already it is essentially a black gel eyeliner with specks of glitter throughout. I love using it alongside a smokey eye with a flick to create a strong eye look. I love how easy this glides on the eyes, and how well it lasts.

Next up is another Rimmel foundation, I am loving their foundation formulas lately. It is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation, a medium coverage foundation that you can't feel on the skin. I love the fact this foundation isn't a fully matte finish, and still looks really natural. It also easily lasts me through the entire day.

The Magnitone Barefaced had to be next. It was a product I picked up on Black Friday last month but haven't stopped using since I purchased. The results are already impressing me, see my review here. I love the deep clean it provides my skin with leaving my skin more glowy.

Lastly is an old favourite of mine. With the cold weather my lips have been terrible and costantly chapping; The Body Shop Solid Argan Oil lip balm has been amazing at helping with this. I love how moisturised it makes my lips feel, but that it actually does it's job and helps clear up my chapped lips. It is definitely one I recommend you all try if you haven't already.

What have you been loving lately? Is there a product I should be trying?

Top 9 Christmas Movies.

top christmas films

Christmas movies always seem to bring out the festive feeling in everyone, some are even in my favourite all time films ever, so today I thought I would share with you my own top 9 Christmas movies for you.

1) The Holiday
2) Elf
3) Santa Claus The Movie
4) Home Alone 1 & 2
5) Bridget Jones' Diary
6) The Snowman
7) Die Hard
8) Jack Frost
9) The Grinch

If I had to pick a favourite I definitely think it would have to be The Holiday for the simple reason I watch it again and again and again. I love the storyline, and the fact it is an all-year-round film with a Christmas twist (and yes, I watch this film all year round).

What are your favourite Christmas movies? Are there any you think I have missed out? Let me know in the comments below.

Top 5 Festive Beauty Makeup!

favourite festive makeup

As it gets ever closer to Christmas more and more Christmas parties are occurring, Christmas Day is soon to be, followed by New Year; with that being said today I thought I would share with you my top 5 pieces of festive makeup.

favourite festive makeup

First up had to be the my beloved Stila Cheek Palette, in particular the shade Peony, the shade second from left. It is a dusty rose colour that immediately adds life to the face, whilst still being natural. The formula is extremely long-lasting as well, perfect for the party season.

The MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter is one I couldn't do this post without. It adds a light highlight to your face without going too overboard, again perfect for the party season, but also to add some life back to your face on these miserable days.

favourite festive makeup

The next festive item of makeup had to be Benefit's Roller Lash, the mascara perfect for curling and lengthening your lashes all in one go. It is also probably the only high-end mascara I have ever thought is actually worth the price. This is a perfect one to transfer your daytime look into an evening look.

As soon as the weather starts to get a bit colder out comes my darker lipsticks. This one from The Body Shop is a perfect edition to festive up your makeup. It is a dark red colour in the shade 125.

Lastly, I had to include a gel nail polish I purchased recently from Essence in the shade True Love. It is a combination of a dark red and dark pink gorgeous colour, my favourite colour to wear in Autumn/Winter. If you added a gold glitter top coat this would make your nails even more festive.

Christmas work do OOTD.

christmas outfit of the day
christmas outfit of the day

Dressing up for an evening out is one of my favourite things to do. Now that we're in the Christmas party season I thought I would share with you my outfit of the day for my work Christmas party.

I have an obsession with anything glittery and sparkly so I of course had to wear a super sparkly dress. The little number above is actually a bodycon dress from Primark, and cost me only £10, how impressive.

The material feels a lot more expensive than Primark, but it is still very light. The dress washes easily and the the gems don't even fall off.

I paired this with my gold glitter sandals, a pair I have had for a long time now and never fail to dress an outfit up whilst still being extremely comfortable. They have a kitten heel too so my feet never get tired. These are from New Look.

What is your favourite outfit to wear for a work do, or Christmas do, or New Years?

Christmas in Southampton.

I don't know about you but I love Christmas, and all the things that come with Christmas from Christmas markets to Christmas lights to Christmas music and random Christmas trees in town. On that note I thought I would share a more visual post with photos of Christmas in Southampton.
