This may be a bit naughty writing a review on a product you can't get your hands on anymore, but I couldn't not share a review of the The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar.
Bubble bars have always been my favourite product from Lush - I love the amount of bubbles they create, the fact they are multi-use products and the fact they change your bath colour water. The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar is a limited edition bubble bar that I unsurprisingly love.
It has a gorgeous wintery cinnamon scent to it that really spreads and fills up my whole flat with the smell. I love the warming smell, and find it really relaxing.
The Magic of Christmas bubble bar turns your bath water a yellow colour, but I think my favourite thing about this bubble bar would be its slightly different design. The bubble bar itself is propped on a stick that you can twirl under the tap as it creates your bubbles. It is basically the lazy girl's bubble bar, not that its hard to crumble the normal bubble bars under the tap but you know.
All in all, Lush have done it again, I love the Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar - I'll definitely be purchasing a few if it comes back next Christmas.
What's your favourite product from Lush? Have you tried this bubble bar?
Ahh, it's been a while since I shared a wishlist so today I thought I would share with you what I have been lusting after lately. I have even thrown in a lifestyle item too.
1) Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine£20.50 - A product I have seen mentioned a fair few amount of times, but recently I tried the tester in Boots and I have fallen in love. I loved the instant texture it created whilst making my hair look healthier - I need this in my life. The best or teasing part is I only need to earn a pound more in Boots points before I can get it for free using my points.
2) Marc Jacobs Lola EDP £48.50 - Marc Jacobs Lola perfume has always been my favourite, ever since it was first released. I ran out of my current bottle just before Christmas, and not having it has just reminded me how much I love this perfume.
3) Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation £8.99 - This is a product which has been discontinued I have realised after hunting for it for the last week or so, but I can still wish for it can't I? I loved the light formula, which still covered my redness and was build-able, I can't believe its gone from the shelves of Boots and Superdrug.
4) The Breakfast Scrub£5.95 - I love the idea of this, it sounds like the perfect scrub for the lazy girl aka me. I am also really curious to see how this compares t0 your regular scrub as I haven't tried anything like this before.
5) Project Life Bloom Edition Core Kit£28.99 - Since starting my Project Life I have brought lots of smaller sets but I would love to get my hands on the larger core kit. I love all the colours and designs in this set so much, I would definitely get a lot of use out of this.
What's on your wishlist lately? Have any of the things I've mentioned made your wishlist?
Ever since I finally got hold of a new leather skirt that was exactly what I was looking for I haven't stopped wearing the thing. With that being said I thought I would share with you an outfit of the day featuring this leather skirt. It is actually more like my outfit of the month.
The faux leather skirt itself is a bodycon fit with two fake zip pockets either side, a feature I love. It is from Missguided and can be found here for just £20. It fits well and is one of the only ones I have found which isn't of the A line style, I am so happy I found it.
I have paired it with a simple high neck top from Topshop which you can find here for £16. I love the fact it isn't a full polo neck, and cuts off half way up the neck creating an elegant look. It is very light to wear, and also works great with a pair of jeans.
Lastly I popped on my calf-length boots from New Look which I brought a few years back to dress up the overall look.
This is definitely my go-to outfit at the moment, what are you loving wearing currently?
2016 is the year of saving so of course I had to buy a few treats in the sales first, and, a couple of items I have been after for the longest time ever.
I started my haul online at Space NK by finally picking up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Dimlight - a powder that must have been in and out of my online shopping bag at last fifty times, and I'm not even exaggerating. Having had the product for nearly two weeks now I completely understand why everyone loves it so much, the finish is absolutely stunning. I love that it is slightly tinted yellow too as I suffer from redness.
I also picked up the Laura Mercier Original Foundation Primer; another product I've been meaning to buy for ages. I've tried this previously, and fell in love with it so I am really looking forward to bringing this back in to my makeup routine.
The last two buys were both sale buys, and from brands I have wanted to try for a long time but haven't been able to justify the price. The first is a Diptyque gift set containing two of their smaller sized candles. I cannot wait to give these a go, and cannot believe they both only cost me a total of £19. The other item I picked up was the Aromatherapy Associates Tree gift, containing a mini Revive Morning Bath and Shower Oil - a little luxury product I have always wanted to try.
Following my online shopping, I then went shopping in West Quay and got hold of a few sale bargains.
I started by entering the Yankee Candle Shop, and picked up two Sparkling Cinnamon tarts. I love how warming this fragrance is, I just wish they hadn't sold out of the jar candles of this scent before I got to town.
Next, and lastly I of course had to visit The Body Shop. The Body Shop always have an awesome sale and this Christmas was no different.
I picked up two shower gels in the scents Smoky Poppy and limited edition scent Frosted Plum. I also picked up the matching Frosted Plum lip balm. Smoky Poppy has quite a perfume style fragrant scent to it and Frosted Plum a much sweeter scent.
I also couldn't resist picking up the Indian Night Jasmine EDT seeing as I had run out of my old bottle. I love the newer packaging but seeing as this was at least half the price I am sure I will survive.
Lastly, I picked up one of their limited edition Colour Crush lipsticks in the shade 110 Coral Blush, a shade I have completely fallen for. It is the same formula I love in a gorgeous coral pink shade, and has been my go-to since purchasing.
And amazingly that is everything I purchased - I don't think I went to overboard, what do you think? What bargains have you picked up in the sale?
I have wanted a watch for literally forever, and I have an obsession with everything and anything rose gold so this watch suits me perfectly. I love all the little dials, and the fact the dial is black as it is a bit different. A metal clasp is exactly what I was after as well.
As to the dials one mini dial shows the days of the week, the second the hour on a 24 hour clock, and the last the date.
Have you ever thought about getting an Olivia Burton watch or do you own one?
How are we nearly a week in to 2016? It's crazy but today I am going to share with you my 15 favourite beauty products of 2015. I honestly don't think I could live without a single one of these products - that is how awesome they all are!
First up is the makeup category, and the first product I couldn't do my 2015 beauty favourites without is the Stila Paint Me Pretty Lip & Cheek Palette - literally my most used cheek product this last year. It contains five cream colours that I love using on my cheeks. The formula lasts forever and I would recommend the Stila Convertible Colours to anyone. My favourite shade would have to be Peony (the second shade from the left).
Next up is the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, one I have raved about many times for good reason. In short it is a light moisturising base with coverage, it even covers my black circles relatively well. It is definitely one I couldn't live without anymore.
Benefit's Brow Zingshas to my favourite brow product again. I switch and change but this is always the product I come back to. I love the powder, but don't use the wax side for some reason, I never have. It is a great product for adding natural definition and lasts all day.
My biggest beauty brand discovery in 2015 has to be H&M Beauty, with the solo eyeshadow in Orange Ochre being one I couldn't do this post without. It really is a favourite of 2015. The quality is amazing and the bright burnt orange colour is something else. It is definitely something different to what I usually where, but also one I love and always get compliments on when wearing.
A high-end mascara is something I have seen the fuss in until the Benefit Roller Lashwas released earlier this year. This just really defines my lashes whilst adding volume and an actual curl to my lashes. I love it.
Sephora Cream Lip Stain's are much raved about in the bloggosphere but rightly so, they are amazing products. I have the shade 03, a gorgeous bright red shade on the pink spectrum, that lasts incredibly well on the lips - even after eating and drinking it will still look as if I've just applied the product.
Concealer-wise it would have to be the Soap & Glory Kick-Ass Blur and Brighten Concealer. I don't know what it is about this one but I have been in love since I first tried it. It works perfectly under the eye, around my nose and on any blemishes. I easily went through 4 or 5 last year, which is saying something. I have written a rave review, which you can find here (I apologise for the terrible photography in advance).
A release I got so excited about and actually had to order in as everywhere sold out, is the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour. I have fallen in love with the ease of drawing on my face, and how easily it blends, so much so I still haven't repurchased my beloved NARS bronzer.
The next couple of favourites I discovered after receiving a Lush gift set at the beginning of 2015 and were definite favourite products throughout the entire year.
First up is my beloved Lush Rose Jam shower gel. I never even thought I would like the smell of rose until I tried this, but the gorgeous scent mixed with a formula that foams so easily easily makes it my favourite ever shower gel. I just wish it was around all year. To see 10 reasons why I love this product so much click here.
My Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioneris another rose smelling product that I loved from the second I tried it. I love how this essentially moisturises my body before I have even got out of the bath or shower. The smell also lingers on my skin for ages after using.
The last category of my 15 beauty favourites for 2015 is skincare.
I tend to use the same skin care all the time and very rarely change the products as I have no reason to do so, especially with my sensitive skin, so of course The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Moisturiserhad to make this category again. I just love the formula of the face moisturisers from this range from The Body Shop. They provide the perfect amount of moisture and keep my skin looking fresh.
Next up is the Soap & Glory 5 in 1 Magnetizing Micellar Water - my favourite micellar water out of all the ones I've tried. I love how easily it removes my makeup, and find the slight cucumber scent is really cooling on my skin. This is great for in the mornings when I am half asleep still.
The Body Shop Argan Solid Lip Oilis my favourite lip product of the year. I find it keeps my lips moisturised and clears up any chaps. It is definitely a product I couldn't live without. It also tastes nice if I accidentally lick my lips (does anyone else do that?)
A very new discovery to my skincare routine is my Black Friday bargain, the Magnitone Barefaced. I had wanted this for the longest time ever but without seeing the results myself I just couldn't justify the price tag, but wow it is so worth the cost. I love how much of a difference it makes to my face, it has helped with my redness and leaves my skin so, so soft. You can see my review here.
The last product to make my 15 beauty favourites of 2015 has to be the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, a cleanser so worth its hype. I love using this on my skin, and find it gets rid of every trace of makeup, and really cleans my skin. I also love the fact the fragrance is quite light as I personally hate using strong fragranced products on my face.
And that's it, my 15 beauty favourites of 2015, what were you loving in 2015? Are any of the products I've mentioned in this post your favourites?
Leading on from yesterday's Lush haul I thought I would do another haul as I have finally brought myself a few new items of clothes with some Christmas money I was given.
The first thing I brought was something I have wanted for a while now; a pair of black coated skinny jeans. I was actually after a leather pair originally but after struggling to find a pair in stock for a while I opted for this alternative from Zara for £29.99.
I also picked up a basic v neck long sleeve striped top from Hollister in the sale for £12. I love the material Hollister clothes are made out of, and find the clothes last for a long time too - this top will be great as a basic top with a pair of jeans.
The next item I picked up was another top, this time a striped polo neck top from Topshop for £10. I don't really shop in Topshop but as I got a voucher for Christmas I thought I would take a look and I fell in love with the brightly but not too bright stripes.
I also picked up two basic high neck long sleeve tops from Topshop, which each cost £16.
Seeing as I have an obsession with all things glittery I had to pick up this little polo neck top number from River Island. It is actually a top I had wanted for a while, and when I saw it in the sale for £10 I could't resist.
Lastly, after looking for a new leather skirt I finally found one that was exactly what I was looking for - a high-waisted fitted leather skirt with zips and had to buy it. It is from Missguided and amazingly only cost £20.
It feels weird writing 2015 in a post when we're in 2016 but technically this sale haul was from 2015, Boxing Day to be precise - yes, I was one of those nutters constantly refreshing the Lush website trying to place an order. However, I got my order through and I am so glad I managed to for the first time ever, I now have soo many amazing goodies to get through.
The first thing I popped in my basked had to be the Firecracker gift set, a gift set containing 2 much raved about bath bombs I hadn't tried, and a bubble bar. It contains the Experimenter bath bomb, the Candy Mountain bubble bar, and a Intergalactic bath bomb. I've been wanting to try the two bath bombs for a while so I can't wait to give them a go.
I love the bubble bars and have been wanting to try the ones on sticks for a while so I picked up two The Magic of Christmas bubble bars and a Magic Wand bubble bar. I also picked up two sets of the five gold rings bubble bars. Bath bomb wise I picked up a Cinders bath bomb, two father Christmas' and two Shoot for the Stars bath bombs. Lastly I picked up a couple of bath melts to try, the Razzle Dazzle and the Snow Angel.
I can't believe how much stuff I picked up for so little, I cannot wait to try it all. Did you pick anything up in the Lush sale? What is your favourite product from Lush?
As the year has drawn to a close it's time to set myself a few blog faced goals, but firstly I want to wish you all a happy New Year.
Over the last my blog has changed a lot; it went under a complete rebrand, I purchased my own domain, and gave my blog a general overhaul. I love the more sleek, professional look but in the coming year I want to hopefully develop and further my blog even more.
About half way through the year I slowed down how often I was posting, and got less and less excited about the content I was posting. This led to a complete break a couple of months ago.
I feel much happier with my most recent content, and the photography but more importantly I am enjoying and loving blogging again. This is the year I want to properly focus on growing it alongside great content. Below are a few goals I would love to achieve over the year.
- Grow my Bloglovin followers to 1000
- Grow my Instagram followers to 500
- Stick to a regular schedule of posting Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the entire year
- Actively use Twitter more
- Aim to schedule at least 3 blog related Tweets a day
- Join in with Twitter chats more regularly, perhaps aim for one a week
- Comment on 5-10 blog posts a day
Have you set yourself any blog related goals for the coming year? Or how about general goals?
