As I haven’t done a TAG of any kind in, like forever, I thought I would give the Beauty Scenario TAG a go. This is a TAG about different scenarios and how you would react to them, from your friend ruining your makeup to your favourite pick-me-up lipstick. It is one I’ve enjoyed reading a fair few of so hope you enjoy my answers.
You have to get rid of all of your foundations and only keep one high-end and one drugstore, which do you keep?
Hmmmm, now we’re asking. I used to be a one foundation type of girl, nowadays I want to try every foundation going. I think high-end would have to be NARS sheer glow foundation; I haven’t tried many foundations but have been impressed with this one since day one. Drugstore-wise it would have to be a Bourjois one – they’ve always been my favourite brand for foundation. I’d probably go for the Bourjois 123 perfect CC cream (yes, the one I can’t keep my mouth shut about).
You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?
I really want to say I would approach the subject but in an interview situation unfortunately I think my answer would be no. I wouldn’t want to draw her attention away from the interview itself as I’d be panicing myself silly that would lose me the job after the interview.
You’re not feeling yourself and you need a pick-me-up lipstick, which do you go for?
Ah, this ones an easy question for me – a bright, bold catching red. The one that instantly makes me feel better would be the MAC Brave Red, a gorgeous bright red that lasts really well. The one thing might surprise you is I haven’t gone for a matte one purely because I prefer the feel of non-matte lipsticks, especially considering I suffer from very dry lips.
You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair or make up differently?
Stop myself from wearing to clashing bright colour eyeshadows together – why Kristy? I’d tell myself that it wasn’t cool and remind her that a neutral look is much more appropriate, or even colours that actually match. I don’t know why I decided this was an acceptable look. Other than that I’d probably leave my makeup the same, I’ve always gone for a fairly natural look every day.
Hair-wise I don’t think I’d really change anything. I used to have bleach blonde on top, and dark brown underneath at one stage but I loved it at the time and to be honest other than a slightly darker blonde I’d happily have my hair similar to that now. Oh, I know… when I was about 11 I decided to cut off all my hair, I would stop myself from doing that, definitely.
You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear [it] wrong and give you a pixie cut. Would you what would you do? a) Smile, say thank you, call your mum and cry hysterically, b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward, c) Complain to the manager and demand a refund
C no questions asked – what hair dresser does that? It would just show they haven’t made the time and effort to actually pay attention to me and discuss what I actually want; somewhere along the lines they should have realised. After complaining and getting my refund I would run out of the shop and burst into tears. It’s taken me long enough to grow my hair, let alone anyone get rid of it all.
Without a doubt the Tarte Rainforest After Dark colored eye and cheek palette. It has everything I need with regard to my cheeks and eyes, from bronzer to blush it’s all there in this gorgeous little palette. I would of course have to throw in a few extras to like a foundation and mascara.
Your house has been robbed, don’t worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What’s the product you really hope is safe?
This is definitely a hard one as I really don’t think my makeup would be the first thing I’d be thinking of, what about my laptop with everything on it? Are all my pictures/memoir from over the years all alright? But if they did I think it would have to be my palettes, especially my Urban Decay Naked Palette. I use it all the time so would be gutted to lose it.
Your friend borrows make up and returns it in an awful condition. Do you: a) Pretend you haven’t noticed, b) Ask them to re-purchase it, c) Secretly do it back to their make up
B, definitely B. I’m kind of the person to tell them what I think and wouldn’t be very happy if they returned my makeup not how it was when I lent it to them. The only time I would probably be less bothered would be if it was a cheaper item but even then I’d probably expect them to offer to repuchase it even if I said no. I don’t know if that makes me sound mean but surely borrowing something you should be treating it how you’d expect your own product to be handed back to you if lended; in other words in the same condition.
