I haven’t written a favourites post in such a long time, but now I’ve got back to blogging regularly again I wanted to share with you all my April favourites. I can’t believe we are now in May, how crazy is that? Anyway, let’s get onto the favourites.
The first two products are foundations, one high-end and one drugstore, but both have surprised me and had me falling in love with them.
The Estee Lauder Double Wear Light is a foundation I had wanted to try for the longest time, and one day I just decided I needed a sample and fell in love. The foundation provides a medium coverage that feels lightweight and lasts all day. I have tested wearing this from around 8am until 10pm at night, and the foundation still looked exactly as it did when first applied. I couldn’t believe it, the only place it did wear on me at this point is my nose, but I have been finding this with a lot of foundations lately.
The other foundation is the Maybelline Matte and Poreless foundation, a foundation that again lasts very well. I love the finish this one leaves on my skin, how lightweight it feels, and the fact it does seem to hide away those pores around my nose! It is definitely a foundation you need to try if you haven’t already.
One product that has impressed me since the first application is the L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask, a mask designed to deep clean your skin and pores. I find it really does do this, and as gross as this sounds it is incredibly satisfying, as when the mask dries you can see any blackheads brought to the surface. Once removed my skin looks so clean, and noticeably purer. I will definitely be writing a full review about this one soon.
The Nivea Lip Butter is a strange product to include but it really is amazing. I tend to get dry lips quite easily, but since using this my lips are nowhere near as dry. This lip butter also provides the perfect base for any lipstick or liquid lipsticks, and works much better than the Nuxe Reve de Miel for me. It is a product I miss if I have left it at home; I definitely need to invest in a second one.
NYX Lip Lingerie’s are often talked about in the bloggosphere, and a product I hadn’t tried until recently when I picked up a couple from their new collection. This shade is seduction. Since picking this up it hasn’t left my bag, I love how comfortable it is to wear but my favourite thing about it is the colour – it is a beautiful nude red that is just a little bit different from your average nude, it’s more red in person than the swatch below looks too! I do find this needs topping up around 4-5 hours but considering everything else it is well worth the re-application.
I picked up one of the limited edition Jouer rose gold lip toppers at the beginning of last month and I just love this product so much. I love my glitter and sparkle, and this just has all of that. The idea is to apply it on top of your regular lipstick to add a bit of sparkle and shine. It provides such a unique finish in a much more subtle way then you would expect. It is a wonderful product everyone needs in my opinion.
The last product in this month’s favourites had to be one of the mini Mac lipsticks I picked up in one of their Look in a Box sets (review here). This particular shade is Nouvelle Vogue, a gorgeous everyday pink. I have been loving alternating between this lipstick and the NYX liquid one mentioned above. It has reminded me how much I love MAC lipstick’s formula for the comfortableness and lasting time.
Swatches L-R: NYX Lip Lingerie in seduction, Jouer Lip topper in rose gold, MAC Lipstick in nouvelle vogue.
And that marks the end of this month’s favourites, an incredibly long post, what have you been loving this month? Have you tried any of the my April favourites?
