Last Thursday evening I was lucky enough to be invited to the Lush Southampton exclusive opening party, for the long awaited new Lush store in Southampton West Quay. I will tell you a little more in a moment, but the new store is amazing, so much larger, and full of new features and concepts around the store. I already can’t wait to go back.
We were greeted by Pimms on arrival before taking a sneak peak and explore around the shop. The first thing I spotted was the new jelly bath bombs at the front of the store. These create a jelly blanket layer on the top of your bath, and felt incredibly moisturising, and definitely jelly like.
Just behind this I spotted the new jelly masks, something I also can’t wait to try. I tried one briefly in store on my hand, which left my hand super soft. Once warmed up they melt into your typical mask like texture, and once dry on your skin they can be peeled off! I’ll definitely be back to pick one up come pay day.
To the left was the makeup section, which looked amazing. It is a much larger section than it was previously in the old store, and there’s so many bits I would like to try. I haven’t delved into any of their makeup products yet!
Further in, at the back of the store, is quite a large area designed for hand massages, consultations, parties and even more. I love that this new section has been included.
I had a hand massage using one of their massage bars, which was really lovely. Speaking to the Lush member of staff I asked what their favourite product was, and have now found a new product I have to pick up. They said it was hard to pick one but one of their absolute favourites would have to be the Full of Grace facial serum. This smelt amazing on my skin, and left it feeling super soft.
My absolute favourite part of the opening party would have to be the demonstration area at the very front of the store. They had Sophie from Lush Kitchen, which meant we could make our very own bath bombs – something that got me way too excited! I made a Twilight bath bomb, one I’ve actually given to my other half as I’m allergic to lavender, but I absolutely loved making it and seeing how the bath bombs are made.
We were also incredibly lucky and were gifted with a goody bag, which had some of their new products in. I received Rocket Science Bath Bomb, Cheer Up Buttercup Bath Bomb, Scrubee body butter, and two hot oil treatments. I can’t wait to use everything, I love the sound of their new hot oil treatments.
The new Southampton store is much larger than the old store located at Southampton Bargate, and is looking fantastic. The store opened on Friday, so make sure you head in if you’re about in Southampton. I had such a great time at the opening party, and can’t wait to head back to explore some more, a big thank you to Lush for inviting me.
