The Smashbox Cover Shot Eye palette in the shade Ablaze is an absolutely gorgeous eyeshadow palette that I picked up earlier in the year and is the perfect palette for Autumn. It is full of warm-toned shades that really compliment each other to create a variety of looks.
There are six pigment shades and two which are designed to be your base shades, within a very compact eyeshadow palette casing. It’s slightly bigger than my palm so it really is the perfect size for travelling. It even has a mirror, something I love my palettes to have if possible.
The first pigment shade in the Smashbox Cover Shot Eye palette is Siesta, a dark rose gold shade with copper flecks that is creamy and just beautiful. The second shade is Nirvana, a matte dark burnt red-y-berry shade, a slightly less pigmented shade but one that is still smooth to the touch.
Delirious is the next shade, a copper brown shade with a frosted finish. It’s very warm-toned shade unlike a lot of brown eyeshadows I’ve tried and would be the perfect crease colour for a more dramatic look. The fourth shade, Torch, is a medium orange shade with flecks of gold glitter throughout and is incredibly unique.
The final two pigment shades are Throwback and Dark Horse, a warm brown with red undertones shade, and a matte super dark brown shade with hints of grey. Both are very pigmented shades and apply well.
Relaxed is the first base shade and one that also works amazing as a highlighter under the eyebrow. It is a super creamy soft peach shade that is nearly the same shade as my skin.(…) The other shade is called Moccasin and is an eyeshadow I wouldn’t really use as a base shade but it is lovely. It is a soft coppery-gold shade.
Overall, I am so impressed with this little palette from Smashbox, I haven’t tried much from them but this palette has wowed me. All of the eyeshadows except Nirvana are incredibly creamy and blend really well on the eyelids. They also last well and are all shades I adore, if you’re looking for a warm-toned eyeshadow I definitely recommend this one and it is a bargain at £24.00.
Have you tried any eyeshadows or makeup products from Smashbox before? What do you think of the shades in this Cover Shot Eye palette?
