The L’Oreal Infallible Longwear Shaping Sticks was a product that I was super excited about when they launched, they looked like the perfect set of makeup products for the lazy non-morning girl, aka me. I’ve been playing around with them for the last couple of months so I thought it was about time I shared my thoughts with you.
THE FOUNDATION
A foundation stick is something that I have wanted to try for a long time and they seem to be suddenly appearing everywhere but the L’Oreal Infallible Longwear Shaping Stick Foundation is the one that caught my eye the most. It is described as an ultra-creamy longwear formula that melts into the skin creating a flawless matte finish.
When I first used it, having never used a stick foundation before I really wasn’t sure what to expect but if you’ve read my recent monthly favourites, then you probably know I may have fallen in love with this product.
I simply pretty much draw the foundation on my face all over, and then follow with my Eco Tools beauty sponge to blend it all in. It is literally a base that takes 30 seconds and is so easy, definitely perfect for the lazy girl.
The formula is definitely creamy and blends in so easily. I wouldn’t say the finish is 100% matte, more of a soft matte finish that looks completely natural and leaves your skin more flawless at the same time. It’s buildable, and it really does last well too, but it can still break up around my nose, but honestly, I love this foundation so much I can get over that for the moment.
THE BLUSH
The L’Oreal Infallible Longwear Shaping Stick Blush is the blush version in the range. L’Oreal have two shades and I have the shade Sexy Flush, the pinkier one of the two, and one I mentioned in my Spring makeup products you need post.
The formula is super creamy and essentially the same as the foundation, but in a blusher shade. It is similarly super easy to apply and blend out, and can definitely be built up for a more pigmented blush look.
I like to dot the blusher onto my cheeks and use my fingers to blend it out, building it up until I get the amount of colour I’m after. This creates a gorgeous glowy pink shade that instantly brightens up your face.
Once set, it doesn’t last quite as long as the foundation and has generally worn off on me towards the end of my working day, but it has a beautiful finish that still lasts about 5 hours. I might have to try it with a setting spray to see if this helps it last a little longer.
THE HIGHLIGHTER
The L’Oreal Infallible Longwear Shaping Stick Highlighter is the final one I have from the collection, the highlighter version in the range. These come in four shades, I have the shade Slay Rose, a slightly pink toned highlighter.
Once again the formula is very similar to the blush and foundation, but I would say this one is ever so slightly drier, but that’s not a bad thing. I tend to swipe this directly on the tops of my cheekbones and blend it in with my fingers. I find if I use a sponge, this tends to get rid of a lot of the highlighter, completely defeating the object.
Tapping the highlighter in results in a soft, glowy highlight. It is a relatively natural highlighter, but one that really makes you glow under the lights, and similarly to the blush it brightens up your face.
I would say the L’Oreal Highlighter lasts a similar amount of time to the blush as well, but I’m okay with this. It’s perfect for everyday, and being in the handy stick formula you can always top it up on the go.
This is seriously a group of products you need to try, above is the swatches directly swiped, and blended out. I honestly can’t believe these kinds of stick makeup products weren’t really a thing until recently, I definitely recommend giving them ago.
Have you tried any of the L’Oreal Infallible Longwear Shaping Sticks?
