August favourites.

August beauty favourites

Once again it is somehow time for monthly favourites; this month has been another busy month for us, amazing, but busy, and by the looks of things so far September is going to be crazy busy too. I’m currently writing this post on our way back from Devon after a couple of days there… But anyway it’s time to get on with August favourites.

August beauty favourites

A few months ago I finally picked up a few products from The Ordinary, one of which was The Ordinary Coverage foundation. I have been absolutely loving using this foundation throughout the whole of August, in fact, aside from another foundation I have been trying to use up, I have been using this foundation exclusively. I absolutely love the formula, how it applies, and how long it lasts. It provides medium to full coverage, covering everything apart from the horrible spot I can’t seem to get rid of on my cheek. I definitely recommend it if you haven’t tried it already.

The next favourite is the Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in the shade 17 Orchidee, an absolutely gorgeous dark pinky-red colour. This is actually an old favourite of mine and one that I absolutely love. I love how moisturising the formula is and how it feels on my lips. It has a satin finish, and is a colour that brightens up my face in an instant. I have been meaning to pick up a different shade for a couple of years now and I really can’t believe I haven’t already, I definitely need too.

The Colourpop Crystal Setting Spray in Aquamarine is one I have literally only just spoken about in my latest Colourpop haul, but I couldn’t not mention it in todays post. In short, I wasn’t expecting to love this product as much as I do but it is amazing if you can get over the way the product sprays. It ensures my makeup lasts all day, leaving it looking exactly as I originally applied it come the end of the day, something I have never experienced before to the same extent.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in the shade Dim Light is a product I have recently re-discovered and I can’t even begin to think why I stopped using this product. It helps with keeping my redness at bay as it is tinted yellow, and just provides the most gorgeous natural, slightly glowy finish. I love it so much that it has got me reaching for my Hourglass Surreal Light Ambient Lighting Edit palette much more frequently again.

Another favourite throughout August has been the So…? Fresh Musk body mist. I picked up a couple of these a few months ago but I have only just started using this one religiously. I tend to wear perfume as if its body spray all over so I purchased these with the idea of stopping me using my perfume throughout the day, which has been working amazingly. This particular one compliments the perfume I often wear, and it just freshens everything up. I’ve tried wearing it on its own and I definitely don’t think it lasts long enough to wear alone but it is definitely a love from me.

The Baby Bright Aloe Vera & Fresh Collagen Eye mask is one I recently mentioned in my Thailand beauty haul post, it is a product that I have fallen utterly in love with. They really do soothe my eyes, relax me and completely brighten the eye area too. I’m down to my last set and I have been avoiding using them as they are amazing, definitely one to look out for if you’re going to Thailand any time soon.

The final favourite for August has actually completely surprised me since I received it, and is the Eco Tools Skin Perfecting brush. It has been a few months since I have reached for a brush to apply my foundation but this one is amazing. It applies my foundation with ease, with the slanted tip making it easy to get around the curves of my face too. The other thing I love is that if I have forgotten to wash my foundation brush then this isn’t a problem with this foundation brush, as the foundation never seems to build up – something I find happens with a lot of foundation brushes. I definitely need to try more brushes from Eco Tools, and maybe even pick up a backup of this brush.

What products have you been trying lately? Is there anything I ‘have’ to pick up?
