About a month ago, just after I got back from our holiday in Thailand, I needed a darker foundation or some lightening drops so I headed to Boots. There happened to be some amazing points offers going on including 300 points when you spent over a certain amount, triple points and another points offer so I decided to make the most of it. I stocked up, and also got a couple of extra things, so today I thought I would share with you my mini beauty haul and mini reviews.
The first thing I picked up was the Maybelline Master Blush Color and Highlighting Kit. I hadn’t actually seen much about this little beauty before picking it up, but I’m so glad I just went for it. It’s very pigmented, much more than I was expecting. I love that all three blush colours are completely different too, a neutral pink shade, a bright pink shade and a purple shade, My favourite combination is mixing the two palest shades together, which creates the perfect pop of pink on my cheeks. The highlighter is the only one I’m not the greatest fan of. It is a peach toned highlighter which has sparkles within and I don’t find that it is all that highlighter-y on the skin either, if that makes any sense.
The Maybelline Dream Cushion Liquid foundation was the foundation I went for. I’ve been wanting to try a cushion foundation again for a long time, so this seemed like the perfect time to give it ago. This foundation is said to provide flawless, fresh faced perfection too, claims that definitely tempted me. I love that I can’t feel this on the skin and the finished look leaves me glowing and flawless, but it is a foundation I can’t get away with wearing without a primer. Without a primer it breaks up very quickly and it ends up looking very patchy, but when I use the NYX First Base Primer Spray this is not an issue. The foundation easily lasts my full working day.
After absolutely loving the L’Oreal Pure Clay Detox mask, I decided I needed to try another L’Oreal mask. I went for one of the new ones, the L’Oreal Pure Clay Bright mask. This mask is designed to even tone and illuminate the skin, something my skin definitely needs. I haven’t actually tried this one yet after buying so many sheet masks in Thailand but I can’t wait to try it. If it is anywhere near as good as the Pure Clay Detox mask I will probably end up falling in love with this one too.
I needed a dry shampoo and actually decided to pick up something a little different to my usual (Batiste). I picked up the Soap & Glory The Rushower Dry Shampoo, a mandarin rose and bergamot scented dry shampoo. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about this dry shampoo so I had high hopes for it. I do find the dry shampoo to instantly refresh and revive my hair like it claims, and I also find that it is a lot lighter than the Batiste – I can barely feel it in my hair. It is definitely a dry shampoo worth the hype and worth trying if you haven’t already.
The last product I picked up was actually from The Body Shop and is their Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil. I was watching a YouTube get ready with me a while ago and remembered seeing someone use a different branded shimmering dry oil, and loved the look so naturally I had to pick some up myself. This shimmering dry oil adds that sun-kissed glow to your skin leaving your skin glowing and moisturised. I’m absolutely in love with this product and definitely should have picked it up sooner.
Have you picked up any beauty products recently, or tried any of the products I picked up?
