At the very end of last month, I was lucky enough to attend the MeMeMe Cosmetics blogger event at the Beales department store in Bournemouth where we were treated to makeovers, prosecco and great company. Today’s post is all about the event, and how to create the MeMeMe Cosmetics signature Christmas beauty makeup look.
After we arrived we were treated to a glass of prosecco, and we all began exploring the stands. I had heard of MeMeMe Cosmetics before the event but I was yet to actually try anything and I had never come across one of their makeup stands. It was so lovely to explore with the girls.
All of their products looked lovely and were well priced too, slightly more than the drugstore but quite a bit less than your typical high-end product costs.
I was very tempted by a couple of their products including the Golden Angel 24k Gold Hydrating Oil. This oil literally had flakes of 24k gold throughout and smelt incredible too, it had a strong lemon-y smell to it.
The other product I loved the look of was their contour and highlighting palette, which you can see in my first photo. I swatched the colours and they look absolutely perfect for pale skin, and they were pigmented too.
Whilst we were exploring the stand and chatting we each took it in turns each having our makeup done by the makeup artist hosting the event, Carlota. The makeup look created was a bronze-y eye makeup look with a bright red lip, a look perfect for the festive season.
I had a wonderful time at the event and got to catch up with the lovely Emma from Elle Emma and meet some bloggers who I hadn’t met before including Emma from Even Angels Fall.
At the end of the evening, we were lucky enough to be treated to a goody bag of so many products, so I’m now going to talk about how to create the MeMeMe Cosmetics signature Christmas beauty makeup look and share some of my thoughts on the products.
To start creating the look I pump a couple of pumps of the Flawless Cream foundation* on to my hand and used my Eco Tools Makeup Sponge in a bouncing motion to apply the foundation onto my face. This creates a medium to full coverage base with a slight glow, I can’t say too much as I’ve only used this a couple of times but I’m loving it so far.
I then go in with the Correct & Perfect Concealer kit*, which contains both the concealer and a slightly coloured powder. I simply apply the concealer using my fingers as I find this helps warm up the product, and pop it under my eyes, around my nose and on my chin. I then set it using the setting powder which worked really well. I love that this product comes with a powder too.
To finish off my face I used the Arch Angel* on my eyebrows starting with the define end. I found this filled in my eyebrows where needed and it really impressed me. It reminds of the Benefit Gimme Brow. After I went in using the highlight end, and used the doafer applicator included to put this under my eyebrows to help lift and define them.
After my base is ready to go, it’s time to start on my eyes using the Eye Inspire Baked Eyeshadow* in the shade Goddess Eyes. This is a quad of gorgeous bronze-y eyeshadows. I start by popping the white shade all over my lids and just above to create a base, before going in with the top right shade in my crease. I then reach for an angled brush and the bottom right shade in the palette, and apply this into the outer corner of my eye to create some definition. To finish off the eyeshadow I go in with the top left gold shade and apply this to the inner third of my eyelid going slightly towards the outer corner, before I blend them all together using my Real Techniques Deluxe Crease brush.
My next step is to use the Eye Sweep liquid eyeliner* to line my lids and add a cat flick to the end. I absolutely loved this product purely because I managed to do my eyeliner so easily when I’m terrible at it. It’s definitely one I need to keep trying but so far this is a big love.
Finally, to complete my eyes I use the Dark & Divine mascara*, a fine-toothed mascara that easily coats your lashes and adds a lot of length.
Having completed my eyes I use the Cherub’s Blush Cheek & Lip Tint* to add some colour to my cheeks. When you first apply this it is quite a scary purple colour but it blends out super easily and adds a lovely tinted glow to your cheeks.
I then reach for the Beat the Blues Liquid Highlighter & Illuminator* in the shade Oyster Gold and apply this to the tops of my cheekbones to add a natural highlight to the skin.
Finally, to complete the look I use the Lip Glide* in the shade Deep Scarlett, a dark red lipstick, and top this with the Light Me Up High Shine Lipgloss* in the shade 04 Intense, a bright red shade. Combined these make the perfect festive Christmas lips and complete the MeMeMe Cosmetics Christmas beauty makeup look.
And, here’s the final look… Is this a makeup look you would try? Have you tried MeMeMe Cosmetics before?
