I’m not sure if you know or might have guessed already but Christmas is one of my absolute favourite times of the year. I love everything about it from the Christmas music to films, to festive drinks and giving presents. That being said, today I thought I would share with you all how we have switched up some of our home decor, aside from the Christmas tree.
I’m not sure what you even call this but if we had an outside door with a hook this is what we would have on it (or we may pick up a wreath). As we live in a flat and don’t have an outside door we haven’t bothered adding a hook but I still absolutely love this in our flat. The large 3 baubles attached actually jingle when you move them and have all the festive feels. I love that they are red too as that’s definitely my favourite Christmas colour.
The next item some may consider tacky but I personally absolutely love, and is ceiling decorations. I told you I love Christmas, but I love these as when I was growing up I always remember going to visit my grandparents whose ceilings were covered with a variety of ceiling decorations. We’ve only got a couple this year, but I think they just add something extra.
These two little guys are two we picked up last year when we purchased a new tree and I can’t describe how much I love them. The polar bear has all the Christmassy feels and even lights up. As to the reindeer, who doesn’t want a silver reindeer? I love how Christmas ornaments instantly make everything look a little more festive, and I think I may have to invest in a mini silver reindeer next year for my blog.
Something that I love to do to add even more festivity is pop a bit of tinsel around any canvases and photos we have on display. These photos are in our lounge above our sofa and I just love how it looks. It instantly transforms the area into something different.
A little more tinsel and not necessarily home decor but I absolutely love putting Christmassy/wintery covers on the bed as soon as the festive season starts to hit. These ones were from Asda last year, and I absolutely adore the little polar bears, snowflakes, and mini Christmas trees dotted all over them. They’re also a brushed cotton material, which is most definitely what all covers should be made of in Autumn/Winter as it’s so warm and gives all the cosy feels.
Yes, that was a Christmas Winnie the Pooh on the bed. I absolutely love Winnie the Pooh and have a fair few of them that I’ve collected over the years, so I couldn’t resist sharing this season-appropriate one which has made it into our bed.
What are your favourite ways to change your home decor for the Christmas season? What do you think of the ideas I’ve mentioned?
