Okay… so it’s officially only two days until Christmas day… I’m not sure I can actually believe it. I absolutely love Christmas and everything about it, and I haven’t done a tag since I started blogging again in February, so today I thought I would do a really old Christmas tag from MakeupSavvy.
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
I would have to pick two, the first being The Holiday. The Holiday is a film that I have absolutely loved ever since it was first released, it gives all the holiday feels and is an incredible movie. The other would have to be Elf, a holiday classic that I absolutely adore.
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Christmas morning, I didn’t even realise opening Christmas presents on Christmas Eve was an actual thing? I usually wake up on Christmas day, super excited like a small child, and then Luke & I open our presents.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
Not any in particular, but the one that will always come to mind is the last Christmas before my dad died, as we were still all together as a family. I’ve always absolutely loved Christmas and just enjoying spending time with the family watching Christmas films and having a laugh as a whole family was amazing. When I was younger we would spend the morning at home, go to the grandparents for Christmas dinner and then see our uncle on Boxing day.
More recently would probably be the first Christmas Luke and I spent in our first flat in 2014. It was incredible to wake up to the man I love and watching him open his presents I bought, before heading to my mums for the afternoon. I also remember him purchasing our first Christmas tree that year and popping into my work to surprise me, where I fell to the floor with the biggest grin on my face in excited happiness.
4. Favourite festive food?
Probably pigs in blankets and all the other party sized food. I love having the choice of having so much food compared to what we normally have. Of course, the roast itself is the best part, and as I’m not the biggest fan of turkey, we usually pick up a turkey and lamb or gammon.
5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I have absolutely no idea, I’ve always been lucky enough to love the presents I’ve received, but if I had to pick one it would probably be the Michael Kors bag Luke brought me before Christmas last year as an early Christmas present. I’d wanted one for the longest time ever, and I just remember turning around and seeing Luke at the till paying for it whilst I was in complete shock. I love being able to spoil others at Christmas too.
6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Hmmmm, if we’re talking candle wise then this year it would have to be the Bath and Body Works ‘Tis the Season, I’m absolutely in love and will be so gutted once I’ve used this all up.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Not really, no, but I think when we have our own children I want to create them all Christmas Eve boxes including a pair of Christmas pyjamas for them to sleep in before Christmas.
8. What tops your tree?
A star, a simple gold star. When I was younger I think we used to put a fairy on the tree, but ever since we’ve had our own we have always had a star.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
Oh god, this one’s a hard question. I honestly have no idea, but when I was a child I know me and one of my sisters asked for an Amazing Amy doll that spoke to you, told you what she needed and you fed her too. She was quite expensive and was something I was obsessed with. My parents didn’t get us them but when we got to my grandparents we were surprised with the doll, so this probably doesn’t actually count but this is the only thing I can think of.
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
Probably the build-up to Christmas itself, and all the decorations. I’m absolutely obsessed with all the Christmas lights, Christmas decor, music and how happy everyone seems to be, but the best part has to be spending it with those closest to me.
What’s your favourite thing about Christmas, do you have any Christmas traditions?
