Colourpop haul and swatches.

Colourpop haul
colourpop international haul

Ever since Colourpop was formed roughly three years ago I have been wanting to try their products, but I have always resisted the urge. About a month ago I gave in and placed an order of around £40 with free shipping.

I decided to order a bit of everything so I could really try the brand and quite a bit of what they offer. My order arrived about two weeks ago so today I thought I would share with you my haul, and first impressions.

Colourpop party trick

The first thing I had to pick up was some of their famous Super Shock Shadows. I picked up the Party Trick set which was in the sale and had six Super Shock Shadows, 4 ultra-glitter and 2 satin finishes. The shades included were valley girl, prickly pear, hot tamale, birthday girl, cheap date and moonshine.

When you first touch the formula it is the strangest thing, it is soft and creamy, and just different to anything I have ever tried before. They last incredibly well on the eyes, but some of them are less opaque than others and work better as toppers on top of another eyeshadow colour.

My favourites include valley girl as an amazing inner corner highlight, and I’ve been enjoying using prickly pear in the crease along with birthday girl all over the lid.

Colourpop highlighter lunch monwy

Along with the Super Shock Shadows I couldn’t resist not picking up one of their Super Shock Highlighters. I went for the shade lunch money, a soft light gold highlighter. It is absolutely beautiful, the swatch at the end of this post really doesn’t give it justice. It again lasts incredibly well and has a similar formula. I find it applies best with a damp beauty sponge to really create that glow.

Next up I went a little crazy on the lip front. The first thing I went for was one of their Lippie Stix in the shade Lumiere. This is described as being a dusty mauve which I would agree with, it is a mauve toned nude on myself and again, unlike anything I own. I have been liking this a lot more than I thought I would and I would love to pick up a couple more. It is incredibly long-lasting, and sits so comfortably on my lips.

Colourpop short and sweet lip set

I also picked up one of Colourpop’s Ultra Metallic Lip‘s in the shade 3-way. Unfortunately this is a lot more purple than I was expecting, so I am really not sure on it, but it is a gorgeous metallic purple shade. I’ve only worn it very briefly so I can’t comment on wear time, but I would love to pick up a more neutral shade.

Lastly I picked up one of their mini lip sets as I loved the idea of trying a few shades and formula’s at once. I went for the Short and Sweet Valentines set, which contains 5 minis with three different formula’s. There are two Ultra Satin Lips in the shades schnookums and love muffin, a mid tone warm pink shade and a pastel baby pink. I find both of these feel incredibly comfortable on the lips and again last really well. I really really like the formula.

There were also two of the Ultra Matte Lips in the shades honey pie and pooky bear, a bright pink toned red and a coral shade. I wasn’t sure if I would like these as I’ve heard mix reviews and I do suffer from dry lips, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far. I’ve only tried honey pie but I’ve worn this a few times and I absolutely adore this formula, how it feels and the lasting time. I can’t wait to try pooky bear.

The last lip in the mini set was an Ultra Glossy Lip in the shade sugar lips, a sparkly, glittery sheer pink colour. I haven’t tried this one either but I can imagine it looking great on its own or over the top of another lipstick to add that something extra.

Overall, I am incredibly impressed and so happy with all the products I picked up. I do have some favourites already and I really want to try more. I can’t believe how long lasting everything seems to be too, especially for the price.

If you’re wondering about delivery costs there was a promotional offer of free international shipping on any orders above $30, so this was free but there were of course custom costs. My order took around 10 days to arrive in the UK before I got the customs card telling me I needed to pay £19 to have my order. This is a lot, but I was expecting this so it wasn’t too bad.

As there was more recently a free international shipping on orders of any value and a variation of offers, I may have made some more small orders since, completely avoiding customs, but that will be shared another day.

Have you tried Colourpop before? Is there anything or any shades I need to add to my Colourpop wishlist?
