An introduction to Malée

Malee review

Malée is a brand I hadn’t actually heard of until quite recently when I was given the opportunity to try a few of their products. Having a look at all their products and the gorgeous packaging I fell in love immediately, and couldn’t wait to give the products a try.

Malée is a brand inspired by “the rich landscapes, alluring scents and ancient wisdom of Africa.” All of their products are created as luxury products that consist of 100% natural active ingredients, and the formulas of all of their products are also scientifically proven to heal, protect and pamper your skin.

Malee conditioning body scrub review

The first thing I received was the Malée Conditioning Body Scrub* (£36), a scrub that is much more moisturising than your average scrub. I would describe the formula as being as coarse as a salt scrub, but more like a very thick scrub-moisturiser if that makes any sense. It scrubs the skin incredibly well but leaves your skin feeling lovely and moisturised afterwards.

The scrub is in the Verdure scent, an incredibly invigorating scent, the kind of scent that will wake you up in the morning and leave you feeling super refreshed. It has citrus, mint and patchouli notes.

Malee moisturising oil review

The second product is also of the Verdure scent and is the Malée Moisturising Oil* (£38). This is a luxury oil that is a multi-tasker, but my favourite way to use it is as a simple moisturiser. It sinks in quickly on the skin, at a speed similar to a dry oil, and I have been loving using it after showering or bathing to lock in extra moisture. If you pair it with the body conditioning scrub it also helps layer the scent, meaning the fragrance lasts longer, so if you use it in the morning before heading out it will continue to help keep you awake and invigorated, or at least attempt to anyway.

The multi-tasking moisturising oil is a super cool product, and it can also be used in your bath, on your hair and on your nails. I love this and I have so far also given the oil a try in my bath which I really enjoyed. The only thing I’m not sure on is the way the oil dispenses. It has a very small hole for the oil to come out of which means it can be quite slow, but that’s more me being impatient than a problem.

Malee polyanthes soybean candle review

The final product I was lucky enough to receive is the Malée Polyanthes Soybean Candle* (£48). The packaging on this alone is beautiful and is definitely something I know I will be keeping once I’ve used up the candle. The candle itself has a beautiful subtle floral fragrance that is quite different to the Verdure scent. It reminds me of a spa fragrance and is incredibly relaxing, one I’ve been loving burning before bed.

The wax in the candle is really cool too, as once it is warmed you can actually use it as an intense moisturiser or as a massage oil, how cool is that? I haven’t actually tried this yet, but I look forward to giving it a go and love the idea as it is so different!

Overall, I am really impressed with everything, and I think the products would make wonderful gifts. If I had to pick a favourite it would have to be the Malee moisturising oil due to how moisturising and luxurious the product feels.

Have you tried anything from Malée before? What do you think of the products I’ve mentioned?
