My foundation collection

foundation collection

I love reading makeup collection posts and realised I’ve never really talked about all the bases in my collection, so that’s what I’m going to do today. As you can see I’ve got quite a few in my collection at the moment… and there’s still a couple more that I really want to try at the moment (oops). Anyway, here goes.

BB cream collection

The first BB cream is an old bloggers favourite, the Dr Jart Water Fuse BB Beauty Balm. This is a gorgeous moisturising base that evens skin tone and provides light coverage, but for some reason I don’t reach for it that often. It is one that I would say is slightly too warm for my pale skin but when I do wear it, it leaves my skin looking healthy and lasts well. It’s a great one for the Summer and also contains SPF 25 which is fantastic.

The LA Girl Pro BB cream is a bargain product and probably my favourite of the three BB creams As you can tell by the packaging I use it all the time and I absolutely adore the finish it leaves. It’s the closest budget find that I’ve ever found that compares to the Bare Minerals Complexion rescue. I love the light to medium coverage the BB cream provides, and it leaves my skin glowing. It is the base I am reaching for on a daily basis at the moment, so you will probably spot it in my monthly favourites at the end of the month.

The final BB cream is The Body Shop All-in-One BB cream, an old favourite of mine. If you’ve read my blog for a while then you probably know that I love The Body Shop, and I even used to work there once upon a time. Whenever I reach for this the concept always gets me as it is a white cream with little drops of colour that are designed to adapt to your skin tone when blended. This shade 00 is perfect for my pale skin and the product itself is lovely. It provides a light, glowy base that is incredibly moisturising.

foundation collection review

The first foundation in this section is the Bourjois City Radiance foundation, a foundation I brought because I used to adore Bourjois foundations. I’ve heard others say that this is a medium coverage foundation but unfortunately I find it blends into nothing and doesn’t last well on my skin at all. It’s one I kind of keep in my collection in the hope that it will one day work for me as it does leave a lovely radiant finish initially, and has SPF 15.

The No 7 Stay Perfect Superlight foundation is another old favourite of mine, that reminds me of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. It provides a light to medium buildable base and looks lovely and fresh on the skin. The shade range of No 7 is something that always impresses me too for a drugstore range. It is a lovely foundation that is worth trying if you don’t like to feel your foundation.

Next up is The Ordinary Serum foundation. This is an extremely liquid light to medium foundation that lasts well. I originally expected the finish of this one to be glowy but I would say it is more of a soft matte finish. It is lovely but I definitely prefer the other foundation from The Ordinary, which will be coming up shortly.

The Maybelline Matte and Poreless foundation is an amazing one and one I absolutely adore, and think is an incredible foundation from the drugstore. It provides close to full coverage and looks flawless, although I would say the finish is more demi-matte than full on matte. It lasts well and is a great everyday foundation.

The other full coverage foundation in my collection that I have been loving is The Ordinary Coverage foundation. This again provides nearly full coverage, lasts well and looks lovely on the skin. The packaging is great for travelling too, and the pump can be twisted to stop any accidental foundation explosions.

The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow foundation is one that’s only available in America or thorough eBay or Amazon but is well worth getting your hands on. It provides the full coverage flawless look but with more of a glow. My only problem is I find it breaks up on my nose quite easily so I don’t find myself reaching for this all the time, but if this isn’t usually a problem for you then this could be a perfect foundation.

The first high-end foundation is the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation and is probably my favourite out of my entire collection. It provides flawless full coverage that lasts really well too. It is one of those products that makes me feel amazing when I wear it, and is the one I try to save mostly for date nights and evenings out. And the packaging…!!!

The Mac Face and Body foundation is actually the first ever foundation I’ve tried from MAC and one I picked up last year. The foundation feels incredibly weightless and provides light to medium(ish) coverage. It is buildable and leaves you looking fresh and glowy. I also love that you get 50ml as opposed to the regular 30ml of foundation so it is actually pretty great value for money as far as high-end foundations go.

The next high-end foundation, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, is actually a much newer foundation to my collection, but it is the one that I’ve been finding I reach for when I know I need my makeup to last. It definitely lives up to its name in terms of longevity and provides medium coverage. It’s definitely a foundation worth the splurge in my opinion.

The final foundation in my collection is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation. This is a foundation I wanted for a long time before I got hold of it but it is one that I can’t make my mind up about. I know a lot of people love it but it just wasn’t what I was expecting. The foundation provides a light to medium coverage and leaves your skin slightly glowing, but it doesn’t wow me, unfortunately.

What are your favourite foundations?
