The Body Shop event & haul

The Body Shop

If you’ve read my blog from the beginning then you probably know that I used to work at The Body Shop, and of my love for their products since then. The other week my local The Body Shop held an event with SotonBloggers which I was lucky enough to attend.

The beauty event started with a talk sharing the background of The Body Shop and their campaign against animal testing. Their passion was clear immediately and it was incredibly interesting to listen to, and was followed up with their skincare expert talking all about one of their latest releases, one you’ll see in a moment. I picked up a few bits and was lucky enough to be gifted with an amazing goodie bag so I thought I’d share everything with you.

This is the latest release product that I mentioned a moment ago. The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Cleansing Oil-in-Gel is a cleanser that transitions from a rich gel texture into a milky one upon contact with water. It sounds incredibly nourishing and like a product that my skin would thoroughly enjoy. The Cleansing Oil-in-Gel is infused with 3 seed oils and is said to leave your skin smoother, more radiant, and moisturised for 72 hours. I cannot wait to give this a try.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Eye mask is a product I picked up myself, and one that I have been wanting to try since I spotted it had been released not that long ago. It is an eye mask that can be used both instantly to revive your eyes or overnight. I haven’t actually tried this yet but I do absolutely love the sound of it, and if it helps revive my tired eyes or with my dark circles, this is likely to be a winner for me. I also tried the Drops of Youth Liquid Peel in store and seriously want to pick this up too. I used it on my hands and you could instantly see the difference, so let alone using this on my face.

The Body Shop Body Butter’s are one of my absolute favourite moisturisers if I’m not being lazy, and we were lucky enough to receive either the shea or coconut one. The Shea Body Butter has a nutty scent and is one best for people for dry skin, so it is perfect for me. If you haven’t tried one of their Body Butter’s yet you seriously need too, they are incredibly nourishing and a product you need in your pamper collection.

To go with the body butter we also received one of their Mango Exfoliating Sugar Body Scrubs. The mango scent is absolutely gorgeous, especially as we are supposedly in Spring. It’s super refreshing. The sugar particles in the body scrub help you exfoliate your body with ease; it’s been a while since I’ve used one of their body scrubs so I very much look forward to using this mini.

Alongside Lush, The Body Shop is one of my favourite places to buy shower gels from as they create so many bubbles on my bath lily, so I couldn’t resist picking up one of their Early-Harvest Raspberry shower gels. This has to be my absolute favourite scented shower gel they have ever brought out. It smells absolutely incredible and if you spot it I definitely recommend having a sniff.

The spa of the world range is The Body Shop’s luxury range, and actually a range I’ve wanted to try for so long now. This literally smells like a spa so I can imagine it being the perfect body wash for a relaxing evening in the bath with a face mask.

The Body Shop Strawberry Clearly Glossing Shampoo is another very new product and one that weirdly I couldn’t stop smelling in store. If you loved the strawberry range as much as I did when you were a teenager then you might understand this, but it smells so strawberry-like and fruity. If this fragrance lasts after washing, you’ll have incredible smelling hair.

The Matte Clay Skin Clarifying foundation is actually a makeup product that you will have seen already if you follow me on Instagram. I have been loving using this so much as it lasts so well, provides amazing coverage and you can’t feel it on your skin. I’m not normally one for a matte foundation but I don’t find this too matte and have been really enjoying it. My skin has decided it is a teenager at the moment so I’m sure the fact it has tea tree in it is a bonus too.

Ahh, bath bombs are what remind me of The Body Shop when I was younger, when they used to sell so many more bath products, so I’m super excited to see that they’ve started selling these mini bath bombs. I picked up the strawberry one and was lucky enough to receive the moringa* one. Considering how small they are in comparison to your average bath bomb, I wasn’t sure what to expect but they’re just as good, just a little smaller and slow fizzers. I’ve used the strawberry one already, which turned my entire bath red and left it smelling amazing, and at £1.50 a pop what’s not to love?

I always need a new nail file so the last thing I picked up was this super cute bunny nail file that’s almost too cute to use. The final few bits we received in our goodie bags were some samples try, including: the Rose Plumping mask*, the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying mask*, the Vitamin C Glow Boosting moisturiser* and the Oils of Life Revitalising Facial Oil*.

Have you been to The Body Shop recently? Have you tried any of the products I’ve mentioned?
