When I was brainstorming my posts for February I suddenly realised that I hadn’t really shared a full skincare routine since upping my skincare last May, and a lot has changed since then. I mentioned a few of these products in my evening routine in January, but a lot of the skincare items have I’ve been using pretty much non-stop for the last 7 weeks are different products. That being said, it’s time to share my skincare routine with you all.
NUXE MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER
To start my skincare routine, the first thing I like to do is remove my eye makeup as much as possible. I’ve been using the Nuxe Micellar Cleansing Water to do this by popping some on a cotton pad and holding it on my eye for a couple of seconds. I find this works really well and I love the rose scent that this micellar cleansing water has. If I’m being naughty and really lazy in the morning, as I’m so not a morning person, then I will simply use this alone to give my face a quick freshen up before continuing my skincare routine, which also works really well. I love that this product is made for sensitive skin too.
L’OREAL FINE FLOWERS MILK CLEANSER
In the evenings and the mornings when I’m not being lazy, my cleanser of choice is the L’Oreal Fine Flowers Milk cleanser. This is another one for sensitive skin and I start by massaging roughly two pumps of the cleanser all over my face in small circles, to ensure all traces of dirt and/or makeup are removed from my skin. The Fine Flowers Milk cleanser is an incredibly nourishing cream formula that always makes my skin feel pampered and super clean after use too. I adore the soft scent, how gentle this is on my skin, but the pump has to be my favourite feature. After using a cleansing oil without a pump for so long this is just so much handier, and less messy. It also seems to be lasting forever, I only paid £3.99 for this last November so this really is a bargain product that I love having in my skincare routine.
THE ORDINARY GLYCOLIC ACID 7% TONING SOLUTION
Having cleaned my face the next step in my skincare routine is to go in with The Ordinary’s Glycolic Acid 7% toning solution, a toning solution that is supposedly very similar to Pixi’s Glow Tonic. I haven’t actually used this so I can’t compare but when I remember to use this on a regular basis I can say I very much love it and notice results. It’s a toning solution designed to improve skin radiance and visible clarity through mild exfoliation. I can feel it ever so slightly tingle on my skin but aside from that it seems quite gentle on my sensitive skin and seems to clear up any spots far quicker than they usually would without using this.
CAUDALIE VINOSOURCE S.O.S THIRST QUENCHING SERUM
The next step is actually one I mentioned very recently in my February monthly favourites and is the Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching serum. I pop a pea-sized amount of this on my hands before massaging into my face. It’s a product designed for dehydrated skin and throughout the freezing cold weather we’ve had lately I’ve instantly noticed a difference. It sinks in so easily and seems to really help ensure my moisturisers provide my skin with as much moisture as possible. It just leaves my skin happy if you know what I mean. It’s a fuss-free product that works really well.
CLINIQUE PEP-START EYE CREAM
I actually unfortunately run out of this product a day ago but it’s an eye cream I’ve been absolutely loving over the last three weeks that it has lasted me. I pop half a pea-sized amount of the Clinique Pep-Start Eye cream out on to my fingers before massaging it under, around and on my eyelids themselves. It’s a product designed to brighten your dark circles and hydrate the eye area, both of which it does incredibly well. It has also helped with the slight texture that has appeared lately and has already noticeably helped this to disappear. All of this has been within the last three weeks so I really couldn’t not mention it and can’t wait to pick up a full size once I have used up some of my other eye creams I currently have.
ORIGINS DRINK UP INTENSIVE OVERNIGHT MASK
Around two times a week the next step in my skincare routine in the evening is to apply the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. Since having this back in my collection since December I really don’t know how I managed without it, it’s an incredible product designed to quench skins thirst and it really does. I always instantly notice how much more glowy my skin looks, and the result is even better in the morning. It always resolves any dehydration issues I have.
L’OREAL HYDRA GENIUS ALOE WATER MOISTURISER
The final step in my skincare routine is to of course apply moisturiser, in the morning my moisturiser of choice is currently the L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water moisturiser. This is a moisturiser that comes in 3 different formulas depending on your skin type, which is something I love. I have the normal to dry version. However, unlike most of L’Oreal skincare products, I’m really not in love with this and don’t find it gives me enough moisture for my skin, even though it’s designed to lock in moisture for 72 hours. I am however still using this in my skincare routine to use it up and I was hoping I would love it as time went on, but unfortunately, that just hasn’t been the case.
BOOTS BOTANICS RADIANT YOUTH REPLENISHING NIGHT CREAM*
If it’s the evening and I’m not using my Origins Drink Up Intensive overnight mask then my moisturiser of choice is the Boots Botanics Radiant Youth Replenishing night cream. I absolutely love this product as this one does inject my skin with all the moisture it needs. It’s also infused with a cocktail of antioxidants that helps skin look younger, which isn’t something I can really comment on, but it sounds like a good thing to have within my night cream.
