Makeup looks are still a very new and scary type of post for me, especially when they feature a photo of myself, but I love putting together different makeup looks so I want to start featuring them more often. My first was a Bourjois one, second a MeMeMe Cosmetics makeup look, but as we’re nearing closer to Valentines Day today I thought I would share with you a Valentines Day makeup look idea, using products from a variety of brands.
To start creating today’s Valentines Day makeup look I pop a coin-sized amount of the Becca First Light Priming Filter onto my skin to create a glowy base. It kind of creates a lit from within look, that still shines through once I’ve put my foundation on.
Following this, I then pump a few pumps of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation onto my hand, before going in with a damp Eco Tools Makeup Sponge. This foundation has a light to medium coverage but can be built up very easily. My only problem when I use this foundation is I always find I need to use quite a lot of product to get the finish I want, but it really does leave my skin looking incredibly healthy and glowy.
I then go in with a new favourite of mine, the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal and Contour concealer. As usual, I pop this in the places I need it the most, so this is under my eyes, around my nose, and on my chin. It’s quite a thick formula that covers with ease and instantly brightens up my under eyes.
To finish off my base I go in with a large fluffy brush on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in the shade Dim Light to ensure everything is set.
Now my base is all done, it’s time to move onto the eyes with this beauty, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance eyeshadow palette. I start by using a small pencil-ish type brush with the shade Love Letter, and popping this into the inner and outer corner of my eyes. It’s incredibly pigmented so you really don’t need to pick up a lot of product before you need to go blend crazy.
I did this a couple of times, before moving onto the redder toned Venetian Red. Similarly, I popped this in the inner and outer corner of my eyes, but only the very edges to add a bit of extra depth. I also ran a very small amount of this shade along my crease to ensure my entire look would blend together.
The next step I took was to dip a flat dense brush into the shade Primavera. I put this one in the middle of my eyelids to add a pop of colour, and blended again to ensure no harsh lines were left behind.
My eye look is now so close to being complete, but before adding a little highlight I went in with Venetian Red under my bottom lashes, and Primavera in the middle part of my bottom lashes. This is to mirror the top.
Finally, I went a bit crazy with the shade Vermeer and popped this in a C shape kind of from the inner corner upwards and downwards to highlight, if that makes sense.
Having completed my eyeshadow it’s time to go backwards and go back to my eyebrows using my new favourite eyebrow product, the MeMeMe Cosmetics Arch Angel. I actually only use the brown end of this product and simply brush it through my eyebrows. This is such a quick step that makes them look perfectly shaped in an instant, it’s one to try if you haven’t already.
Next, it’s back to eyes and mascara, I actually used two mascaras. I first went in with the Clinique High Impact mascara to add a bit of definition and really define my eyelashes, but as this is a Valentines Day makeup look I really wanted something a bit extra. So, I went in with the Bourjois Push Up Volume Glamour mascara after to add a tonne of extra volume.
Now my eyes and face are completed it’s time for the final touches starting with Mac Powder blusher in the shade Melba. It’s a gorgeous soft coral with peach tones, a perfect blush to add a little something. I then went in with my favourite highlighter, Summer, from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sundipped on the tops of my cheeks and just above my lips.
And to complete the makeup look I went for a dusty nude shade in the form of my Colourpop Satin Lip in the shade Alyssa, one of my favourite ever lip shades I’ve tried from Colourpop.
And, here’s the final Valentines Day makeup look. Have you tried any of the products I’ve used to create this look before? Is this a makeup look you would try?
